Are they the funniest (non-main actor) duo ever in a movie? Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern were hilarious together.

Very good physical comedy. Think: Three Stooges+Charlie Chaplin+Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner...

Joe Pesci

I'm kinda surprised they convinced him to take on such a "silly" part. Not only for the first but the second too. To go from his fantastic gangster roles to a goofy burglar who gets shot in the penis with a pellet gun and his hair torched off is a pretty drastic difference in acting parts.

I'm certainly not complaining and I agree, Pesci and Stern made the best duo I can think of. I idolized Home Alone when I was a kid. That movie got me in trouble for making "booby traps" around the house and for saying my first "bad" words in my super churchy household.

I don't know about funniest but those movies were great. Huge part of my childhood.

He was also great in My Cousin Vinny. He definitely has a wide range of acting abilities.

Christmas Vacation and Home Alone are my favorite Christmas movies.

I loved Home Alone but I did not care for the fact that the Polka Bums went bankrupt and disbanded themselves after Kevin's Mom sued them for Sexual Harassment that occurred in the back of a truck.

That's the sad "post script" of the film.

In sworn testimony, Kevin's Mom asserted that John Candy wanted her to put her mouth on and blow his "black thing".

I don’t think Home Alone is that different Fromm Peci’s other characters. He’s a vicious weasel criminal in this and he’s a vicious weasel criminal in those other movies.

What separates this out is what happens to him.

Stern’s scream when the spider is on his face is fricking hilarious. I die laughing every time I see that

A few good ones in this. Burt Reynolds and Dom Deluise were good. Mel Tillis and whoever he was with were good. Can’t remember all of them.
