Yeah man, I'm not trying to be rude to you but just sitting there like Eeyore while they feed you this BS lets them get away with it while your insurance goes up. I would tell them their explanation isn't sufficient and go right back up the chain to Marriott and let them know you expect a new truck

Not sitting there like Eeyore. Just don’t know my options. I have been talking with Marriott and Westin employees and they’re trying to get to bottom of it too cause it all sounds suspicious

Im guessing a stolen truck hitting their insurance is going to be a killer.
There is going to be zero effort on their part to enter and insurance claim.
Lawyering up is your only chance. Unless you reported it to your insurance and are willing to let them fight it.

I get it everybody hates lawyers......until you need one. You need one.
Those Westin employees you are "talking to" are just following a script. NOPD wont do anything, get a lawyer.

Lakeboy is right. The people at Marriott and Westin have zero incentive to find your truck. If anything, they DON'T want it found because that can lead to their involvement in it. It sounds suspicious because it is suspicious. If you don't threaten legal action they're just going to slow roll you until you get frustrated and give up because that's what gets them out of this with no problems.

This
They are hoping at some point one of their new details or new wrinkles in the story or new "stand manager" or "manager of the manager" or whoever will generate enough confusion for you that you will lose faith in YOUR argument that this was negligent on their behalf and that you DO have a case.
Get. A. Lawyer.
In fact get the meanest fricking lawyer you can find.
frick these people.
These are the people responsible for everything wrong in New Orleans. You're the victim of a crime, and they just look out for one another and concoct some story hoping whitey get soft and kicks his toes down the street while Valet Armond can tell his boys that you've given up and the racket will continue. And crime will continue to stay where it is.

Very very few lawyers handle claims like this without injury.
Maybe talk to some of the guys that specialize in Lemon Law. I know its not the same thing but they may take it on

Nice edit But, no, they did not.
You’re trying way too hard to be a heel. Smells like desperation for attention.

I thought new tech makes it almost impossible to steal a car without the keys.
Absolutely untrue.
I know of two people that have had their trucks stolen at very reputable hotels in Houston in the last year. One was a 1-year-old Denali, the other was a 5-month-old Ram with extensive suspension and performance upgrades.
*They* usually work in teams of four with two get away vehicles (also stolen): Break in, cut the security, pull the fuses relays for onstar/montitoring tech and have the car rolling inside of 3 minutes -- all without have the keys. Owners were told the same thing by LEO: Those trucks will be across the border before you blink.
Both thefts were on hotel security camera, and it is quite impressive the efficiency in which the teams work. Houston hotels are an absolute hot bed for full-size truck theft.

Staying in Houston next week. Wish a brother luck.
OP, I imagine your insurance will be more than happy to fight with the Westin on your behalf over paying out the claim.

Yep, my bud had his AT4 stolen from a very nice hotel recently. It was less than a year old. Has yet to be found and was told don’t expect to, and if it is found you’re not going to want it back in the condition it will be in

There isn’t going to be some big payday with this. He is going to collect what the insurance pays and get some bonus points from Marriott.

Yeah, if my fricking truck gets stolen what I’d want from the hotel whose valet service fricked me is some rewards points.

WTF is a lawyer going to do for him? 20 grand and 5 years later maybe he gets a few thousand dollars. When lawyers get involved, nothing body wins but the lawyers.
You have two choices …Claim it on insurance, let them handle it. Or waste hours and hours of your time over the next few months for nothing. It’s not worth it.
This is literally why you have insurance. But people on here worry about their insurance going up a little. That’s silly.
You’re welcome for the best advice you’ve received so far.

Are you night or day manager at The Westin?
The valet lost the truck. It will go to their insurance.
It isnt a big payday, but if the guy is just holding liability why would he not go after the valet?
