Sure do. Just look at the past 8 years.

Right or wrong, neo-con strategy to combat Islamic terror from reaching the US en masse is to de-stabilize every M.E. region. They will be too busy fighting civil wars & will be unable to mobilize legitimate #s of fighters to pose a threat here

So the WH notified the Russians Syria, well in advance, before they dropped bombs on the base. Now Russia said they'd help Syria bolster their air defenses. Looks like this was all for show.

Probably more important for the rest of the world to respect us than to like us.

What's the point of dropping bombs if your going to tip off Russia and Syria beforehand? Syria had time to move all their equipment, which they did.

Those ppl stay turnt up. They don't need a Lombardi half time speech.

W/ our questionable intel in the past, it's hard for most to get behind this. That won't change until the govt cares to regain the citizens' trust back

kind of like your mom making you go get the switch before she used it to whip your butt. You know its coming and there's nothing you can do about it.

is there a link to this? I assume that we told them about it, then sent in the cluster bombs that cratered the runway preventing them from moving any aircraft. Then gave them time to evacuated the hard targets, buildings, and hangars. Then we destroyed those in the second wave. That would have been SOP in this situation. What have you read that reports something different?

Once they commenced the chemical attack, they knew the US would be pressured to respond.

They probably anticipated this airstrike before the US tipped them off anyway so assets were moved ahead of time.

Yesterday, we had a thread where Russia was flexing their muscles at NATO by sending a ballistic missile sub into the Baltic Sea.

This is our equivalent gesture saying we are ready to whip some arse if/when this Syria thing escalates to WMDs

More of the status quo

It was just a big PR stunt. We aren't going to take out Assad. 99.9% of the people in the world don't know the games being played right now. It will come out soon enough but most won't believe the truth. They hear and see what they want to believe. Sad

We probably would have already taken out Assad if we didn't think Russia would retaliate by taking more of Ukraine.

We are in a Mexican Standoff right now between Syria, Ukraine, USA, and Russia
