It just doesn’t make sense. JBE just passed a bill to decriminalize small amounts this is plan stupid.

Because old people suck and think it is the same as meth.

You are kind of missing the forest for the trees here. I am a BIG supporter of legalization, but Dare knows the rules and chooses to break them.

How bout don’t smoke weed if you know it’s against the rules, and no, I’m not old.

And that rule exists all over the country in places that ignore it.

At this point it should be as valid as the Napoleonic Code.

It does make sense though.

Until it's not an issue at LSU, don't do it OR go somewhere that allows it.

Pretty simple

True...he knew the rules. I don't like 65 mph speed limits, but I don't drive 100 mph. Rules/laws are what they are, whether you like them or not.

They are doing that, unfortunately. Both as recruits and current players.

The enforcement of weed laws is going to be looked at in history as a gigantic joke one day.

Bet you drive 75.

Which is FAR more dangerous for you and those around you than pot.

Decriminalize means you won't go to jail for it... you will just get a ticket.

Basically like a traffic ticket.

And so you can see why a university doesn't want their players/students breaking a law.

There are a number of companies in states that have legalized dope, that drug test their employees, and will fire them if they fail for dope. And LA hasn't even legalized it yet.

I think what he's asking is why don't we change the rules so that this is never an issue again?

Who the hell cares about weed

If Dare played for Saban/Bama, how is this handled?

Is underage drinking allowed on the team? What % of the team is underage - 95%? And how many of those do you think have broken that restriction many, many times while in school?

I think a lot of the "the rules are the rules" people are being a least slightly dishonest, and it IS actually about the weed for them.

Lawmakers have not found a way for most of the money to go into their pockets, and the Sheriff's still run this state.
