As I look at your images slack... I'm curious... why doesn't the PDS Watch that's currently out there include any of Oklahoma?

looks like the first storm popping off south east of Lubbock.

NWS Norman ? @NWSNorman
12:39 pm - our latest weather balloon data shows the cap is pretty much gone over central Oklahoma. We are starting to see very early signs of storm development in several areas. Storms will get bad quickly. Stay alert!
For those who don't know, a capping inversion ("cap") is a layer of warm air aloft that prevents air parcels from rising and forming thunderstorms. When the cap goes away, storms begin to form.

It's coming. It starts in the panhandle though.

When the scale of colors top out in the 9-9.5 range, yes, that's nuts.

As James Spann said in 2011 when there values went over 10, when they thought it only went to 10, WOW.

I remember James Spann going on about how they were observing values over 10 during the 2011 outbreak. He was saying they hadn't seen anything over 10 before then. Hopefully today is a bust, but man, these ingredients are really lining up.

I am literally right on the edge of that then. BA in Wagoner County southeast of Tulsa.
It is just an odd set up. Normally on tornado days, you can feel the humidity in the air. It is muggy, and you just know storms are coming. Today though, it was 55 when I woke up and went on my back patio. No humidity what so ever. Even just low 60's when I came home from the office.
We have also had some showers roll through and it is really cloudy. Normally, cloud cover(no sun) and light showers before the storm settles our chances for twisters. I am assuming today that will not be the case.

Think you are still North of the warm front.

In case you've never heard what an approaching tornado sounds like(says it sounds like a train) this video taken last month is the most insane ,clear audio video I've ever seen.
Sorry but the only video I can find is a FB video
The sound of that tornado behind the tornado sirens is about as eerie of a sound you'll ever hear.

Lines are convective potential energy (CAPE), 4000+ is high. There are 5000+ pushing into the high risk zone. Lines are drawn for every 500 J/kg. Light blue shading is convective inhibition (CIN).
It's highly unusual to see such a large wide open warm sector in this part of the country. This is more typical of a SE (MS/AL) setup but with the addition of a sharp dryline (don't really see that in SE setups) and an unusually deep 500mb trough. Very unique setup for sure.

Yes I think it is just to my south. Which again, is odd to me. No sunlight to heat things up currently. Even the warm front you speak of isn't a huge jump in temps, is it?
Oh well. Hopefully we miss out on the nasty stuff.

Ok, but leave your stuff here, too. A many page thread, most folks don't go back to the OP to check.
Thanks for your (and everyone else's) valuable inputs.
Maybe we can help alert someone that may miss out.
But hopefully they've been told otherwise.
