a former coworker of mine just posted a conversation to facebook he's having with a former meteorologist we both worked with
the former-meteorologist apparently said he's expecting the SPC to eventually issue a high risk area at some point

I was just coming to ask Geaux if he was still expecting a high risk as he said last night.

Should absolutely evacuate imo

I live in Shreveport. Everyone was telling each other to be safe at the grocery earlier. Kinda eerie.

00z HRRR is showing multiple long track rotating updrafts moving across Louisiana with the spacing indicating at least some discreteness. That doesn't necessarily mean tornadoes but the chances of all modes of svr wx increase with a rotating updraft.

I think most people would rather the POlice or IRS show up at their house than Jim Cantore show up

In that environment though, that's ominous.

So for all of us nonweather experts, can you explain what’s going on there?
Posted on 4/12/19 at 9:21 pm to Duke
Ok in need a quick answer from you more educated guys. I live around Monroe. I have 4 kids very young. I’m leaving town early in the morning I’m not risking it. Is conway Arkansas far enough?

I'm still hopeful that we will see a typically "messy" evolution across Louisiana with plenty of clusters and interactions. Also, the 00z 3k NAM is coming in a lot less ominous and seems to keep things in check south of I20 in LA.

Yeah is monroe looking to be the ground 0, or what about the surrounding parishes

I have chased every spring since 2009 (along with 2004-2005), have averaged 4 weeks chasing each year, and still can't fathom chasing tomorrow solo.

Tomorrow is not a high-shear low-CAPE event. It is a high-shear moderate-CAPE event. The only thing I see that can prevent a tornado outbreak is too many storms and widespread storm interference.

00Z HRRR is straight fire. The big UH streak in LA is from an early morning storm, but the remainder are from what appears to be discrete supercells moving through an impressive kinematic and thermodynamic environment

We haven't had a tornado threat in the U.S. this bad in quite a long time.

The parameters tomorrow are awfully impressive. The potential for a significant severe weather event including tornadoes is very real. That’s a 70% contour for sig tor values > 5 — very rare. Remember that oftentimes, sig severe will occur within the gradient, not the max.
