I wouldn't have thought Benson is the richest guy in Louisiana. I'd almost have to think it was someone that made their money in oil and gas. Of course, maybe he's got a bunch of that too, for all I know.

I am sure a large portion of that purchase was financed with debt. He didn't just drop a cool billion in cash.
Also, a lot of the chouest net worth is likely divided among the kids and Gary. So combined combined they may be well over Benson, but individually may not be.

I think Hyundai bought them out but im not sure. I met Pat Taylor once. Super nice fella. I build ssome dual plane mud mats on the largest platform that he ever built.
