Congress tried last year and couldn't get it passed. Various states including Kentucky, Oklahoma and California are all proposing legislation to end it in their states and some areas of the country already do not participate...it's so beyond to end this dumb clock change twice a year.

What kind of psychopath wants it to get dark at 5 pm?

We need permanent Daylight Savings.

Sorry I meant freeze it when we shift forward in a few weeks and keep that from here on out.

Pick one. Either one. Just, for the love of God, stop dicking with the clocks!

We need to keep daylight saving permanent. Get rid of standard time, it's depressing.

Hard pass. I know the plant baws roll up to the lot in pitch dark regardless, but the rest of the population has no interest in waking up, getting ready, getting the kids ready, and getting to work/school in the pitch fricking dark. Sunrise at 8am sounds far worse than a short period of time in the winter with sunset at 5pm.

You should probably retitle your thread to "we need to make Daylight SAVINGS permanent". That is what you are talking about.

If given the choice, i'd rather have First light at 8 am over last light at 430 pm any day of year.

For those that prefer darkness early, are you not active people?

I used to hate the clock shift. Now, I just hate people bitching incessantly about the clock shift.

I lift/run at 4:45AM. I also hike early in the AM. and I hunt in the fall/winter.

You're minimalizing it like it's a smaller thing. It's literally the exact same period of time where it would be sunrise at 8am. It's that whole cut a foot off a blanket and sew it back on the top thing. So if it stayed daylight savings year round, that 8am sunrise would also just be for a short period, as you put it.

Maybe they should just put a vote on an election ballot and majority wins. It should go whichever way benefits the most people.
