Once again, we have an example of the modern world thinking they know better than 2,000 years of consistent church teachings.

The diaconate went 1,500+ years without even being used...

Got to be an unreal feeling walking out on that balcony for the first time as pope with that crowd.

If you can’t run downtown afterwards and use the promotion to pick up some Italian chicks what’s the point?

I imagine this would be the ultimate for the small subset of women that love married dudes.

This guy is married to God

Deacons have been a part of the church since before the Council of Nicaea

And before you go to “Deaconess” they were a different position and later became referred to as nuns.

I have a feeling if the Conference starts ordaining women, we would see just how much power the pope has over them.

The Conference is essentially a trade organization of the American Bishops.

Deacons have never not been part of the church in reality.
However, the office fell into disuse shortly after Nicaea. So the 2,000 years of tradition claim is fairly empty.

The Bible details the importance of women from Old to New and certainly during the early church. A deacon is a servant. Let them serve the church as they always have, from the very beginning.
Nothing in Scripture prohibits it. Much supports it.

If the church got it wrong, just add it to the long list.

Truth is this guy is a complete outsider. He barely has any known interviews. Anyone claiming they know his stances are just blowing smoke
His Twitter account is obsessed with taking shots at JD Vance.

As I predicted, he is going to be WORSE than Francis.

I mean, we're a heartbeat away from installing a dumb dipshit who looks like a little bitch as leader of the free world.

Look, I get what you're saying, and I get your concern. But I think you're taking a leap. There's a balance somewhere, and as long as the scale doesn't get tipped, I think synodality could by ok. Remember there are also traditional voices to be spoken there. I could also be naive but I'll give Leo XIV the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

How many popes have their been for everyone? This is #6 for me. Paul VI to Leo XIV. HUGE fan of JP II. Polar opposite from Woke Francis.

#4 for me... was born during St. John Paul II's Papacy

ETA: to show just how long JPII was Pope... the 1st Conclave of my life was in my late teens/early-20s

Looks like there are two total posts on his Twitter account about Vance, and they are just very factually correcting Vance for some incorrect statements on church teachings
