WBRZ Should Be Embarrassed By The Garbage Their Illiterate Reporters Publish

This gem is from Earl Phelps. Absolutely horrendous. Let's break it down.
"the LSU's" is wrong. Why is "Police Force" capitalized? What the hell is "regular police assistants"?
It should be "their", not "the". Missing a comma after "you". Shouldn't "Labrador Retrievers" be capitalized?
"Apart of" is bad enough, then he screws up the possessive form of "university" by shitting out "universities". The last sentence is just a horribly formed thought.
"They able" ... It also appears he missed an "also" after "they can", although that sentence is such shite, I'm not sure if that is even how he intended for it to be read.
"LSU Police Chef" then he misses a comma after "Thompson" and adds an unnecessary comma following "dogs". Even after correcting all of these mistakes, I still have no idea what he is trying to say. This also repeats the thought in the sentence before it.
"Will be many" is followed by a missed comma after "events". "Daily routines of patrolling campus" seems wrong, too.
----
It absolutely amazes me that this is what passes as journalism. Earl and WBRZ should be absolutely embarrassed by the shite. I wouldn't send an internal email as fricked as this article, and I am not a "journalist".

quote:
BATON ROUGE- The newest members of the LSU's Police Force are exactly your regular police assistants.
"the LSU's" is wrong. Why is "Police Force" capitalized? What the hell is "regular police assistants"?
quote:
"These dogs love to be petted," said K-9 Officer Kim Bass.
Don't let the friendly demeanor fool you these labrador retrievers are checking people for explosives before the game.
It should be "their", not "the". Missing a comma after "you". Shouldn't "Labrador Retrievers" be capitalized?
quote:
"These dogs are actually working when they are out there interacting with the fans and students," said Bass.
Jazz and Weeks are apart of the universities K-9 force. The force has two more bomb dogs along with two narcotic K-9's. The difference between these dogs and Jazz and Weeks is they are called Vapor Wake Canines.
"Apart of" is bad enough, then he screws up the possessive form of "university" by shitting out "universities". The last sentence is just a horribly formed thought.
quote:
They able to track explosives, but they can follow the person that is carrying the bomb in a crowd.
"They able" ... It also appears he missed an "also" after "they can", although that sentence is such shite, I'm not sure if that is even how he intended for it to be read.
quote:
"It started in the military, suicide bombers, and law enforcement just recently moved to that," LSU Police Chef, Bart Thompson also says the dogs, can track explosives on moving targets.
"LSU Police Chef" then he misses a comma after "Thompson" and adds an unnecessary comma following "dogs". Even after correcting all of these mistakes, I still have no idea what he is trying to say. This also repeats the thought in the sentence before it.
quote:
"It tracks the odor that the explosive device puts out, and it allows them to follow that person that may have an explosive on their person," said Thompson.
Jazz and Weeks will be many sporting events as well as their daily routines of patrolling campus.
"Will be many" is followed by a missed comma after "events". "Daily routines of patrolling campus" seems wrong, too.

Earl always seemed way too old to be a reporter. Usually it’s younger people. It always looks weird to me when I see him doing a live report.

God, that is horrendous

The grammar taught in schools was created by whites to oppress minorities and is there to exemplify whiteness.
Just because the writer didnt use white language doesn't mean the writer said anything wrong.

The University of Washington, Tacoma’s Writing Center now instructs students that expecting proper grammar from others perpetuates racism and “unjust language structures.”
quote:
“Racism is the normal condition of things. Racism is pervasive,” the poster reads, the Daily Caller reported Monday. “It is in the systems, structures, rules, languages, expectations, and guidelines that make up our classes, school, and society. For example, linguistic and writing research has shown clearly for many decades that there is no inherent ‘standard’ of English. Language is constantly changing. These two facts make it very difficult to justify placing people in hierarchies or restricting opportunities and privileges because of the way people communicate in particular versions of English.”

I love how they have a link at the bottom of their articles that say “click here to report a typo”
Wtf? Do they not employ editors these days?

First of all , I'll meet any man that slurs the good name of my man Earl "Smooth" Phelps, at the Sonic. Second of all I did enjoy hearing the earnest young anchorette refer last night to a "fatal death". That was solid.

I think that's an okay alternative.

Jazz and Weeks will be many sporting events as well as their daily routines of patrolling campus.
Assuming your quote is accurate, should be "at" many sorting events, IMHO.
I agree it should have a comma after sporting events. It needs something else in the subordinate clause, perhaps "...as well as engaging in their daily routines of patrolling campus."

BREAKING NEWS: I have just received exclusive footage of the WBRZ editorial staff in action...

They are an abomination. They have solid weekday anchors, but every single reporter seems to have been a pity hire. All of them...not just Phelps.

Journalism schools are a fricking joke these days.

Journalist is one of the hardest lowest paying jobs in the whole world. They do it because they love reporting the news. They literally put their life on the line every day for us
