It is time for her to move on in the proceedings. He clearly understands. He has understood during the trial. He has demonstrated that he understands.
He either testifies or he does not. He cannot keep saying he doesn't understand his right to testify. He refused to answer and therefore, he forfeited his right.
MOVE ON!!!!

Why is she going back through the colloquy again?

For someone who doesn't understand anything he sure is making a valid legal argument. It's dumb but it's at least a valid argument.

He's questioning his charges now

One thing I just learned........
Brooks has his prison garb on underneath his suit and tie

My best guess is to give him ample opportunities to get into a legally based argument to avoid a mistrial or appeal.

It's funny to me he calls himself the "alleged defendant." There is nothing alleged about being the defendant.

The judge is LOVING denying these one by one now. He rejects the charges

About 3 minutes ago I started typing a post saying how much I hate him saying that. He says that he is not Darrell Brooks though, that's why he says it.
I'm glad she is just saying "denied" now and moving on.

She's not the only one.

She finally said that every determination she makes is a determination by the court. I can't believe it has taken her this long. He acts like he doesn't understand but he does.
ETA: He all of a sudden doesn't understand the question even though he was responding to the question earlier by questioning the charges and citing a WI statute. God, I hate him and his fake shite.

He's been coached by someone, but he doesn't seem to understand what the tools are nor how/when to use them.
Hell, he just read "I do not understand what you are asking".

He's not being coached for this part. He's reading off some sovereign citizen playbook. His lawyer left him notes on which arguments to make but the hardheadedness is SovCit strategy.

This fricking dude is nuts. But this is what he’ll file appeals on. Saying that he did not understand. He won’t win because this is probably the most patient judge in the country.

That's why she is being so patient with him.

She needs to run for political office after this.

How can he not understand if he says he filed his own jury instructions? He doesn't even make his "I don't understand" argument correctly.

This is why you hire an attorney. . . even if it's a state appointed attorney.
Wish the judge would throw that out there.

He knows exactly what he's doing. He's like a street hustler on Bourbon St

He knows what he is trying to do. He is nothing like a Bourbon St. hustler because they are good at their hustle. He is an idiot who can't do what he is trying to do correctly.
