That’s a good question and I don’t really know. What would normally happen to a lawyer who told a judge to “chill with all that” in their courtroom multiple times?

They would be held in contempt and I would imagine potentially be disbarred.

That lawyer would be held in contempt, spend a night in jail, and then face professional sanctions.

I haven't been able to watch. Has him presenting his defense been as much of a shitshow as expected?

Tomorrow is going to be such a shitshow. He knows exactly when he is supposed to call who but he is going to intentionally call witnessess who aren't there yet to raise a stink.

Not really, just a giant waste of time for everyone involved.

I am having a real hard time believing that the judge putting her foot down would create issues on appeal: this entire damn thing is being recorded. She is creating a terrible precedent going forward for defendants with nothing to lose: turn everything into a shite show in hopes of making the judge snap. It's how a fricking toddler behaves, and you don't correct a toddler with pleading and multiple chances.

This guy is a total douche canoe and it's really unfortunate that the jury doesn't get to see it.

The jury has seen quite a bit of his behavior because he keeps talking over the judge while they are there and before they are led out of the courtroom and, sometimes, as they are being brought back in. She has had to tell them multiple times to disregard what he says.

Just a waste of time. Not sure how these witnesses are supposed to help his case with the questions he is asking.

It's the criminal mind, wanting and needing control over people. They have to be there and deal with his bullshite because they have no choice.

I’m still wracking my brain trying to figure out where he intended to take the Kirby questioning and how he thought it would help him. What was the plan?

That includes the gracious assumption that he had a plan

If he has a plan, I don't know what it is. These witnesses have helped the state rather than him. This girl identified him as the driver of the suv.

So far, the other side of the story he talked about in his opening has not been shown. I doubt it will.

I believe one of his 76 charges is related to hitting Erica Patterson that day so he is trying to get out of that one.

How many times does Brooks try to call someone (or something) completely unrelated to the massacre to the stand today?

i.e. Judge Dorow, D.A. Opper, The State of Wisconsin

I'm setting the O/U at 2.5 different instances

Are either of y'all lawyers? Or just bored at work and intrigued by watching a crazy person represent himself in court?

Trials have really intrigued me ever since I found the live commentary of Rekieta et al on them

I take it as a learning experience for what I could expect if I ever end up on a jury

ETA: it started with the Rittenhouse trial

Kind of in the same boat as me then. I think law is really interesting and important to know even as a layperson. Not that I'd ever think I could represent myself like this idiot is doing, but it's fun to see how these things work.

Just bored at work and I find trials really interesting. I also really enjoy the commentary provided by Rekieta Law and his various guests.
