Not a lawyer, but this girl is being a much "better" witness than ole rapey Kirby right? Rather than ramble or expound on her answer, she directly answers only what he asks.

I wouldn't. Jury would appreciate it.
I agree. I don't know that there is anyone he could possibly have as a witness that keeps him from getting life in prison without parole.
ETA: Dammit. Why cross?

I wonder if he will have any witnesses they feel the need to cross.
I like the theory that his witness list is just people that the prosecution listed as potential witnesses but didn't call because they weren't very necessary.

This is the 2nd reason they shouldn't cross. #3 is that it is about to give him more time to talk and ask pointless questions. Come on State, you've done so well so far.

Here's why.

Fair. I was wrong.

If Brooks redirects and hounds her about "but did you know his name" it only looks worse for him. State is doing a good job here of putting Brooks back in the vehicle.
judge dunked on him there

She is a lovely witness for the State as it turns out. Thanks Brooks.

And here he is again, trying to call into question the credibility of his witness.

After listening to this waste of time redirect I'm going back to my original stance and saying the State should not have crossed and just let her go.

I hope they talk about him trying to call the State of Wisconsin. That will be fun.

After watching for 30 minutes I can tell this guy is dumb enough to think he’s doing a good job and has a shot at getting off. When the decision is read, there’s a good chance he snaps.

He thinks that he is so smooth and cool. They would've only taken 5-7 business days if you hadn't been such an interrupting frick.
Posted on 10/20/22 at 4:46 pm to CaptSpaulding
This guy is a total douche canoe and it's really unfortunate that the jury doesn't get to see it.
Posted on 10/20/22 at 4:47 pm to Wayne Campbell
This guy is a total dickhead. He wants to keep it a surprise as to who he's calling and when

I feel like a judge would never let a lawyer talk to them like this. Is there a different set of rules if you’re a dumbass?
Posted on 10/20/22 at 4:49 pm to Ingeniero
Judge being cute, "That would not be fair to say."

There is nothing that she can do to him. He is going to be in jail for the rest of his life so how is she going to hold him accountable?

A few, yeah. Holding him in contempt only delays proceedings further and she's going out of her way to be deferential to reduce chances of the conviction being thrown out on appeal and having to retry the whole damn thing.
