I heard one reporter say "aks" and another commenting on "bursted" pipes. How is this acceptable for on air reporting?

When your recruiting pool is basically just a bunch of left wing political activists....this happens. Especially on local affiliates.

If they speak with proper grammar they are accused of “talking white”.

A lot of the conflict within certain demographics are self inflicted. They hold themselves back & hate on the ones who are successful.

Because it’s your local news station in a state that ranks near the bottom in education. Where do you think these shitty podunk affiliates pull interns from? Harvard?
These are products of the local community and (most likely) local schools. Yes, even LSU. If you thought you were gonna hear people speaking with clear annunciation- let alone proper grammar- you haven’t paid attention. Ever.

And that’s not even addressing the misinformation or agenda of the station that employs them.

I heard “be precautionary”. That doesn’t make sense on any level. Channel 2 in BR.

Turned it on the other night for the first time in 15 years and a guy held up a thermometer and said it said X temp but he didn’t trust that bc his 9 weather app said something else and it was accurate.

Was just like wtf are they doing? Turned it off, will check back in 2035

Earl Phelps is the worst reporter on TV. Every time I see him, I think that it must be a cruel joke and they are all sitting back at the station laughing.
