Watching alaskan bush people

They're trying to float logs down a river but a rope gets caught in their prop so now the logs are floating away. Not to mention the rain is starting to pick up and getting nasty on the water.
Commerical break now.
Alright, They got the rope out and now the boat engine is fired up. They've got all the logs corralled on the shore but need one more.
Plot twist, one of the logs gets caught and bear is trying to get it undone. If they don't get this log, they can't finish their house. Bear comes through and they are now tying the logs to take home.
They're pulling the logs down the lake and all the sudden a bunch of logs just broke away at full throttle. Scary situation. They just lost half their load.
Commercial break.
Turns out one of the brothers didn't tie the logs properly and now their arguing. Because of the rain everyone was in a bit hurry and didnt properly secure the load. Bear turned back with the skiff and tethered the logs back together. They've finally made it back to brown town with all the logs. Crissis averted.
In the next episode, the boys go into town. They are looking for more materials to use on the house and meet some local girls.

I see those people in town all the time. The whole story is a fraud, they are actually from Texas. The Dad is a writer and has written dozens of books. Two of them served a sentence for PFD fraud, the oldest boy got a DUI here not long ago. Rumors are they actually sleep in a lodge in Hoonah, the "bush" setting is just that, a prop.

I don't know how those people are still alive. They have no money and are constantly breaking shite. They creep me out.

the men of that show are very impressive. Their carpentry and fabrication skills are pretty cool to watch. Their settlement looks like an awesome place to live (if you were about that life).

That area is pretty damn awesome. Homer is a really cool town, they live a few miles outside of Homer. Most of Homer is built on a sand spit. Their compound is a half dozen or so miles East of Homer.
They kind of overplay the self reliance thing. Those folks can drive or take a boat to Homer.
