Watching a old Patrice O’Neal clip from Don Imus nappy headed hoes comments

Damn I miss Patrice O’Neal I wish he was still here. I would love to see what he would have to say about everything that is going on in the world today. After watching this I forgot how different the world was in 2007. Don Imus calling the Rutgers women’s basketball team nappy headed hoes only got him suspended for 2 weeks. If that was today he would have been fired on the spot and Gillette would have made another commercial on toxic masculinity. You also have Marc Lamont Hill calling for don Imus to be fired for his comments only to be fired by cnn on his comments on Israel 12 years later.
I do not agree with the comments he made but I can’t believe how fast everything has changed in the last 10 years when dealing with something you don’t agree with. The world has been flipped upside down since we elected our last two presidents. I’m not saying it was perfect back then but it was a lot more normal compared to the world we live in now. Do you ever think we can ever go back to that time where even if you don’t agree with someone at least there was respect for one another?

He had a charity for kids with special needs, and would bring them to his big farm, and he put them to work. LOL

It all changed when Obama became president and everything was political correctness.
ETA: It was in the 2009-2011 years where it shifted and the poster below me is correct with social media had a big influence where everybody thought we cared about their opinion and what they have to say.

I don't agree with that; it was more of a twitter phenomenon that let anybody be the 'voice' and people starting throwing facts and the requirement of such out of the window

Patrice was one of my favorites on O&A and Tough Crowd. I didn't always agree with him but you couldn't deny that he had a way of phrasing things that you had to appreciate. Even guys like Bill Burr looked up to him. Here's one of my favorite Patrice bits.
