I don’t think there was much he could have done anyway. That Mama would have killed him had he tried to take the cub even if that Male hadn’t come along.
Had whoever was filming done anything other than keep his arse quiet and hidden up in that tree he would have been a goner, unless he could have somehow killed both the adults.

Edit: I just went back to the website and didnt notice the first time it is a hunting website so yeah, the hunter knew to stay absolutely quiet and stay in the tree!

Yeah you could tell that he started out filming he thought he was just capturing some adorable footage of a mama bear and her 3 cubs with that one little crippled fella.

I did not expect that cub to die, and I actually said "That bear won't live much longer in life", but that was horrible. Seeing it try to climb up the tree was gut wrenching.

Boy, the old sayings about mama bears protecting their cubs...holy shite. She went apeshit on that male bear. I cannot imagine the wrath a human would experience getting between them.
She was attacking his bare (no pun) back, and you could tell by the back hair she had torn him up. But no blood, and it didn't look like he was really wounded. But he was scared as shite as she kept stalking him.

I do too. That is the reason why it wasn't too hard to watch. It's not like the cub suffered horribly when the male killed it. The moment the male attacked it, that was the end of it. The cub would have suffered more horribly by starvation and pain from the broken legs.
