Was this excessive, or did he do the right thing?

Cop tells the guy that he’s under arrest, the guy says “for what?” And then the cop tases him and finishes the encounter off with a knee to the back.

Asking a reasonable question is considered resisting arrest by today's cops.

bullshite. That video diesnt show what happened before. The guy was obviously going away from cops and there was a aggressive crowd around.

Need more info to be able to give an opinion. Have no idea what happens prior to the video starting.

That was awesome! Would have liked to see the video for a minute prior to see what shite that kid was talking.

We don’t know what led to this. This is why I hate judging one’s decisions with a small, framed snippet of a video on Twitter. Was the cop aggressive? Clearly. Was it warranted? This video gives no clarification.

Well, it isn't quite that straightforward, the guy yelled back a couple of times, probably had some idea of what he was being arrested for and if he had met the cop halfway, probably wouldn't have gotten tased or boot to the head.

If being an a-hole was illegal 50% of the country would be in trouble.

Tasers have no place in a country that claims to disavow cruel and unusual punishment.

Of course, I have been told that they're not "punishment" per se, but a tool to gain compliance, which is ridiculous. Torture of all forms can be used to facilitate the work of the police. That doesn't excuse it.

We have no idea for the context based on that short clip. For all you know, that was the tenth request to submit.
