Was the Happy Note the best bar in Baton Riuge during that time?

Shag carpet on the walls…cheap shelf liquor and you were lucky to get a splash of anything…the jukebox…and the Christmas ball lights. Great memories.

I can still taste their drinks 30 years later, but only in my memory . . . drinks so strong it killed all my taste buds.

The Bayou was the best IMO

Thirsty Tiger and Happy Note were the places you met people that may not have been your girlfriend ... also had the stiffest drinks.

I had heard that Old New Orleans on lobdell was where the Happy Note folks went after it closed. Similar pour.

Did you know the Note had pot-luck lunches on Wednesdays back then? I knew and it was glorious.
