And the second one was where Uncle Earls door is now. Loved that location.

We'd go on $1 call night pretty often. Was that Tues or Wed nights?

Yes it was.
We drank worm buckets there.
Started going to Rianos next door, too, to play darts and sip if Happy Note was crowded.

100% the Tiger. Pretty sure not Snorkels at least not long term or consistently, but never know maybe helping out.

$1 calls was Wednesdays. Thursday was exchange night. All the Greeks hit Murphys after exchanges.

Note had string drinks. But I’d still vote Southdowns and Uncle Earls if you were past the college scene.

Snorkels? Not even in the same league.

My favorite bars in the 1990s

1. The Bayou
2. Library Joes
3. Slinky's
4. The Chimes
5. Chelsea's. This is when it was on State Street
6. Sports'
7. Snorkels

I admit that I was a Chimes Street person who used to go to parties on State Street.

It was a front for Tommy’s bookie business. It’s why the drinks were strong as frick because he was making bank as a bookie and had to show a loss somewhere.

Overheard one day after one week of betting by one dude:

Tommy: (after adding up a bunch number on his calculator) I have here that you owe me ten thousand dollars.
Guy: (indiscernible talking)
Tommy: WHAT?!? You don’t have it?! Well what the frick are you doing betting with me. You better get your arse down here so we can discuss how you will pay me.

I thought it was called “The Quarter Note”?
Maybe I’m wrong though?

I remember all the regulars at The Note getting pissed when the college kids would come in and take over. Tommy was a good dude.
