I think his mom is just REALLY extra. no 9 year old knows to wear fricking Guuci clothes. and just because he dresses like an idiot doesn't mean he's not bullied. the same people who felt so bad for him were the same people bullying him AGAIN today. I saw some really fricked up shite said about him today...
let's get this straight... HE DID NOT ASK FOR MONEY. HE ASKED FOR NOTHING. Hell his mom didnt ask for money. She just wanted her son to stop getting bullied. and it's not like he was about to receive 130k+. the guy who created the gofund me said he would use all the money to pay for expenses to get him to disneyland... AND DONATE the remainder. So he didn't get some pay day over this shite.
Twitter truly is an awful place. because he posts pics(his mom really) of him with money and in nice clothes means other kids dont make fun of him because of the way he looks? they literally crucified the boy today over a RUMOR. terrible. was his bullying over exaggerated? Probably. But the things I saw today because some black girl started a rumor for one pic that he was 18 was terrible. one said " Big head lyin as". Like nice. we are back to bullying him for his disability. Awesome

this is the real answer. She did use her kid for "clout". as he's an aspiring "influencer/actor".. however this was in no way his decision. and he really is 9. she used her son's meltdown to try and make him famous. which worked. However that doesn't mean he wasn't bullied. I'm sure he is.
But let's be clear they did not ask for money or start the gofundme themselves. I wouldn't call it a hoax. still doesn't mean what the mom did was right. she seems like a real piece of work. Every time the mom raised her voice or said "bully" the kid freaked out. She never put the phone down or offered words of comfort to the kid. IMO, 9 or 18, he's getting the short end of the stick.
