No he's not, the Mongols killed as many as 100 million people while Ghengis Khan was alive

Was that just Ghengis? Or all of the Khans combined?

Eta - Guess it doesn't matter as Ghengis would ultimately be responsible anyway

I will never understand why this guy gets so much more of a pass than Hitler:

I mean sometimes Stalin gets mentioned, but this guy almost never does.

because even if he killed 100 million, there's still over a billion left, it's like Microsoft taking an 8 pt dive and Bill Gates loses $500 million dollars. People say, "HA, Good!"

When Hitler killed a couple hundred thousand Jews, they whined more.

This is silly, American Indians didn't have the population you are speaking of by a factor of at least a 1000.

Mao, is by far the go to guy in term of numbers of people killed.

I don't know if worse, but they are different. Caesar, Alexander, Ghengis Khan, all of their slaughtering was based on conquest.

Hitler's systematic extermination of Jews was based on lunacy.

And while Hitler's numbers of slaughter pale in comparison to someone like Khan, Khan's goal was domination. And, if you resisted, Khan would murder and/or enslave the entire village. But once within the fold of Khan's empire, as long as they were on the straight and narrow with his demands, they were left alone.

Listen to Hardcore History podcast. He has a 6 or 7 episode (4 hours + each) on Khan. It's really good.

Scholars have varied widely on the estimated size of the indigenous populations prior to colonization and on the effects of European contact.[3] Estimates are made by extrapolations from small bits of data. In 1976, geographer William Denevan used the existing estimates to derive a "consensus count" of about 54 million people

18 million in continental US, now how many are there?

Caesar was actually quite nice to the Gauls.

They kept breaking treaties and rebelling so he made an example out of one tribe after they forced his hand.

1) There is no way to determine the population of Natives accurately and any attempt to do so and claim to have an accurate figure is pure academic fraud.

2) 54----->18 million over 400+ years is not genocide.

3) Even if all of your points carried water, they are pointless because we are discussing individual tyrants who made their mark on history through genocide. No one person or party instituted a policy of genocide against Natives on the scale we're discussing.

Plenty of guys in the same league. He lost. He's chronologically closer to us and those ovens are a pesky little issue that's hard to forget.

Estimated 2-10 million then. Many more now. They are not all forced to live on reservations now btw.
