Warm February
Posted by floyd of pink on 2/11/19 at 1:34 pm321
All I heard last year was this winter would be one of the coldest of all time!1!11!
So far, February has been mostly in the 60s and creeping into the 70s a few times already.

Are we going to have these threads every time we have a pleasant warm day in the winter?

At lest six pages full of people confusing weather with climate on one side and tards who think the only solution revolves around more taxes and wealth redistribution on the other.

We need you to pay your fair share
It's the warmest February I've ever experienced. Y'all, global warning is a thing and it's real. People love to hate on AOC but she's bringing some well-deserved attention to the topic of global warning with her Green New Deal. She knows it's not going to pass the way it's written but it's going to get the conversation started because we need to do something. If the rich would just pay more of their fair share and if the poor would get more money back in tax refunds and reparations then maybe chemical plants would leave north Baton Rouge and move to the Garden District. That's the only solution to bring temperatures down so we can have cold winters again.

Does anyone know if the pattern is going to shift again before winter is out?

Winter is done for the SE. There will be cool downs, as you'd expect in Feb, but overall the patter is set in for warm in the SE.
It looks practically the same for the next few weeks, with the southern jet dominant and keeping the flow of warm off the Pacific entrenched.
There isn't expected to be much of a block up Greenland way, and when it does happen, the necessary ridge over the west coast is no where to be found. None of the cold air built up in western canada is ever forced down to the southeast.
By the time this pattern may possibly flip better for cold here, it's going to be near March and the sun angle getting higher means less and less a base for true cold to get in.
In short, get ready for spring.

Don't get too aggressive, especially in SC. There's probably a freeze or two in the coming weeks, but it won't be long lasting. It'll be a lot like recent days though, when it does get cold, it won't be exceptional and be moving it's arse out the way in a couple of days.
This active southern jet though, if this keeps up into late March and April, could yield a rough severe weather season in the SE.

It’s been unusually cold in most of FL.

I had a little garter snake slither by my foot in the yard Sunday. They think it's spring too.
