It’s been unusually cold in most of FL.
Jacksonville had a record high just last week.
Y'all did get a little chilly on the tail end of the "polar vortex".
Also, while the east has gotten the torch to open February, the west coast has been cold. Seattle has their snowiest February on record already (14.2"), which is a good 10" more than Boston has seen all winter. Mammoth ski resort got a good seven feet of snow last week.
Finally, on the weird cold for an area, Maui recorded snowfall this weekend including a record for lowest elevation of snowfall. So it's winter somewhere, but that somewhere isn't the southeast.

I had a little garter snake slither by my foot in the yard Sunday. They think it's spring too.
Garter snakes and grass snakes both make me dance, even though I know good and well that they are beneficial. Depending on my mood, I actually let them go nowadays.

That’s actually normal temps. I believe the average high temp for New Orleans in February is mid 60s.

It's the warmest February I've ever experienced.
Same. Exact. Trend. No?
