1. You do know elephant hunting is legal in Zimbabwe if you have a permit don't you?
2. Legal hunting of elephants has boosted their numbers and protects them from poachers, but I guess that doesn't matter to a moron like you. Just like with the outlawing of alcohol, weed, gambling, or anything else outlawing ivory trade, big game hunting, etc would just increase illegal hunting (aka poaching) by those that were once employed in the legal industry and subject to internataional treaties, black market trades, crime and corruption, etc. Poaching is responsible for 65% of the elephant population decline.
3. I have posted a Univerisity of Maryland study in multiple threads that show that countries with legal hunting have a slower decrease in large mammal populations or in the case of South Africa an increase. Why is that you might ask? It turns out that the key to population control or restoration is land and in countries with legal hunting have better funded protected areas so they can actually enforce the law, and private land owners are utilizing their land to support mammals or atleast live in harmony with them. Unlike in Kenya where they are butchering lions left and right because they are threat to ppl and of no economic value. So apparently legal hunting revenue is the key to funding those and a legal country spends 3-25 times as tourist does depending on the country. LINK
