The ability to scan and go (like at Sams).

Called Walmart+, it will cost $98 a year, or $12.95 a month, and give members same-day delivery on 160,000 items, a fuel discount at certain gas stations and a chance to check out at Walmart stores without having to wait at a register.

Not having to wait at a register, alone, might be worth $98/yr.

And you guys are worried about a Bill Gates chip. We're already chipped everywhere we go.

Shrinkage at Walmart is about to skyrocket. And the top executives will not be able to figure out why.

Why do all of that when I can buy my shite online and they bring it to me in the parking lot? Then, I can go down to Mapco and get discounted gas all without having to pay $100 a year.

At its stores, members can unlock an app to scan items as they shop and pay without having to stop at a cashier.

So, I go in, grab a few items and scan them with my app, throw them in the basket and leave? No! I'm going to have to wait in line for the 78 year old door attendee to check which items I actually scanned.

No? Great, here's how that works. 300 lb trailer living welfare scam artist walks in, scans a few items and put them in her cart. Then she proceeds to grab a few more items, place them in her cart and walk out. Who's checking those?

Walmart is already by far the fastest checkout since everything is self checkout nowadays except for Sams scan and go. Scan and go is great but Walmart already has a big edge in checkout time over Target and the likes. This is of course talking brick and mortar stores as online is always the fastest.

I do self checkout and never have to wait. It literally takes me 5 minutes to scan my stuff and go. Keep your $98.

Why does everyone care so much about loss prevention at Walmart? You think no one over there thought of that? You could argue the same thing about self checkout. Bottom line, if it makes my shopping there quicker and easier I'm for it. I don't give a frick what happens to Walmart's bottom line.

I have been using Kroger scan and go for probably a year

Walmart Plus is a subscription service that will launch nationwide Sept. 15. The service offers free delivery for orders $35 or more - some available same-day

Walmart already has free two day shipping for orders over $35 with no Plus membership. Why pay for plus

Does the $98/yr mean I don't have to be around the typical Walmart trash, as seen at the College Dr location for instance? If it gets all the trashy people out the store, maybe I'll intentionally walk in one again.
