Maybe they just don't want to be a part of the problem anymore

I'm sure it wasn't researched at all to determine its impact on the bottom line.

Companies do stupid shite all the time that cost money. That can't possibly be a shock to you, right?

They should rejoice. It will give them more of a reason to visit the gun shop now. The one close to me is awesome. Their hours are wonky so I'm forced to buy ammo before the range sometimes at Walmart.

Will plan accordingly now.

A private company can sell or not sell whatever they want.

I wonder how many people buy ammo at WalMart.

The few times I've been to walmart for anything "behind the counter", there hasn't been an employee able to help on that side of the store.

I imagine they could sell a lot more if they had someone that was required to be in eye-shot (pardon the pun) of the counter.

But as it stands, I imagine they sell close to none.

Every single time at Walmart, there is no one behind the counter.

Will not affect then at all.

All this means is I will continue to go out of my way to spend money with someone other than Walmart. Most of them are sh*tholes, at the end of the day.

You mean the case where the US Supreme Court sided with the baker?

So WMT is going to potentially alienate a customer group by no longer selling something that the customer group currently isn't buying from them.

No P&L impact on not selling ammo, but curious if they lose non-ammo sales from people "taking a stand" against their stand.

Perhaps they figure in many of the small towns they operate, where the people who are likely to boycott actually live, those people don't have any other options for buying the other stuff WMT sells.

walmart will still allow conceal carry. They just do not want open carry (scaring customers).

In a lot of rural areas, Walmart is the only place that sells ammo. I know near our hunting camp that is the case.

The urban and suburban locations probably don't sell a whole lot.

They only sell shite ammo anyhow. Best deal is Federal .223 for .30 a round. I can get the same thing online for .17 a round.

I'm British so excuse my being astounded that anyone would need to be told not to go shopping carrying a gun that's visible to other shoppers. Just think how that sounds to the rest of the civilised world.

Hmm...that's a good point. Time to hit up the closest WM after work and buy up their Federal 9mm and .223.
