fricked up thing is if not for the video damn near everyone would have believed her over him. He would have been totally fricked.

As soon as you saw her on an electric scooter at her age you should’ve known something was up.

What a shitty state Georgia has become.

And he couldn’t get bail either? Pitiful.

Someone on the PoliBoard said he should go ahead and be deported simply for being a suspect. That place is nuts.

Yeah this is ridiculous that the man was even charged. It’s kind of crazy to me that it has proceeded this far. Does the DA or judge not have common sense??

Honestly even if he actually was trying to kidnap the kid - which he clearly wasn’t - an attempted kidnapping charge wouldn’t stick based on the video.

The mom wanted attention. End of story.

She is an absolute piece of trash. As if the motorized scooter wasn’t a dead giveaway.

Pathetic story that makes me lose more faith in humanity

This is a pretty common refrain on Atlanta social media about this case. Even those who say he isn't guilty of a crime say he should be deported for being in a position to be accused of a crime LOL....He is probably lucky that the public has more or less sided with him or he may very well have found himself being deported. He is a natural born US citizen (I think, could be wrong but that's what multiple sources claim) but he is also brown and has a suspicious last name to people who suffer from irrational and baseless fears....

I was walking into WalMart recently to pick up a prescription for my Dad and an older woman was getting off one of the scooters at her car and I offered to take it back to the store for her. She was very thankful, and I hopped on that thing and headed for the front door and I got the stink eye from several people LOL....folks ought to mind their own damned business but there were some who certainly were busy minding mine when all I was doing was returning the damned thing to the store for the next person to use....

I was in a wheelchair for several months after back surgery gone wrong. I watched as folks under 30 hopped out of pickup trucks with lifts with their handicapped tags while I had to squeeze into a spot in the back where I could not get my chair out easily. I will stare all I want.

I hope she has to serve time for this one.

Her sentence should be whatever his would have been had he been found guilty.

25 years sounds right to me. A message needs to be sent to people that chasing a quick payday with a false accusation will no longer be tolerated.

This definitely smells fishy.

A few thoughts:

Why is the mom in a scooter? She doesn't appear to be a lardass

No good deed goes unpunished

What is up with that lawyers eyebrows?????

Still, she could get it.

I hope Patel sues the shite out of the mom and the cops.

The first thread I skimmed on this included a video clip, which I did not watch, and many OT posters were convinced the man was guilty as hell.

I did not watch any of the videos, but I start with the presumption that no grown man wants anything to do with a damned toddler. You probably couldn't get that man to babysit a toddler for $100 an hour. You will have to bring strong evidence to persuade me to the contrary.

Seems pretty obvious to me what happened and it’s pathetic both the police and DA let this progress at all much less to this ridiculous extent and even worse still be going.

Patel asks her about medicine, she tells him where she thinks it is, he is either noticing the kid fall as she tries to tell him or wants to help her get up and show him. She then backs up hitting the display, knocks her kid off the scooter, runs over the kid’s foot and now has to find an excuse that she just hurt her child while unnecessarily using a scooter and being a moron. First thing that pops in her head to cover he arse is “guy tried to kidnap my kid and I was trying to get away”.

That she obviously didn’t tell to the guy that caught her kid she flung off the scooter right after this happened.

DA or someone involved in this process needs to be investigated for connections to this woman and then disbarred or fired if a cop. There is absolutely no justification for this at all and there needs to be severe consequences for all involved in this farce and clear violation of rights.
