They have AI programs that “watch” you ring up everything and flag movements that don’t jive with registered scans….
But you do you….

I've always told them "no thank you" when asked for the receipt. There is no law saying you must show a receipt upon exiting a business premises. The only exceptions are stores where you agree to do so such as Sam's or Costco.
I do this as well or wave. I have been stopped and questioned once. I informed her there was a five dollar charge to see MY receipt or rummage through MY merchandise. Once she let go of the buggy I walked out to the sound of her saying “sir, sir..”

I find the disdain on this board for receipt checkers to be hilarious. Many of you have legitimate social issues.

My bananas would not scan last summer but hey the monkeys got feed for free.
Today my mother and I went through a lane at Walmart and the cashier forgot to scan 4 (8 pack) of Diet Coke. I realized the mistake and told the cashier. I could have ripped off Walmart for $20 bucks. Makes up for those bananas I stole last year.

Yep. Just checked out earlier and thought the same thing. So you have to show her your emailed receipt instead?

Order groceries on the Kroger app and tell Walmart to go frick themselves with their cheap shite.

have to imagine theft is through the roof but still considers manageable. Also, the bulk products. Assorted nuts and candy ranges from $5 - $12 per lb and you print the label. You can’t tell me that a significant portion of our populace doesn’t take advantage of this. The clerk has no way of knowing if you picks $5 nuts or $12 nuts.
I have a former employee that works Walmart Asset Protection. He says that they know that type of stuff goes on but it’s monitored very closely at the cameras at the self checkouts have facial recognition. You will get through a couple times but when you’re finally caught, all of your previous thefts will be tacked on

Sam’s is members only, you sign a contract, & agree to your items being checked. There is no such agreement with Walmart.
I agree with you, but couldn't Walmart just add "by making this purchase, you agree to show your receipt upon exiting the store" to the self checkout?

Big spenders on this board don’t shop at Walmar
We make good money and shop at Wal Mart/Costco regularly for the food basics. It is not a Dollar General or anything. The food savings add up over time to almost $100 is my estimate for us at least. We get all our basics there.
If I want a fancy cut of meat, Central Market/Whole Foods it is.

The supervisor ladies at self checkout already can monitor you real time to see what you’re ringing up. Once I had basically 2 baskets worth of shite. Carefully rung everything up while she was playing on her phone. We even exchanged a word or two about how much shite I had.
Right after I paid she came up and accused me of only ringing up half the stuff only. I showed her my long arse receipt. She wasn’t convinced. Eventually she showed me the tracker on her phone. I pointed out her screen wasn’t big enough to fit everything.

If you're white and the exit person is black, they will ask for your receipt, guaranteed.
How you're dressed is immaterial.

What’s the difference between Beer Nuts and Deer Nuts?
Beer nuts cost about $5 a bag and Deer nuts are just under a Buck.

Not in person. Occasionally we will send our servants there for something.
