The marketing genius who came up with this new logo idea has to be one of the best salespeople in the world. Walmart probably paid in excess of $5 million for their new logo.

As a DEI Executive, I feel the new logo is much more inclusive and well worth the millions spent updating it

People are getting fatter not skinnier so the enlarged yellow makes a lot of sense from a DEI perspective.

This kind of "rebranding" happens all the time. I think these companies, especially giants like walmart, are terrified of massive changes and want to ease people into their branding changes.
Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Taco Bell and many others have done the same before. It is funny thinking about the amount of money they probably paid to barely change their logos though.

It was a faded t-shirt, now it is a new t-shirt.

Go easy on her, she went back to her hometown for Xmas and met the man of her dreams while having hot cocoa. She sort of mailed in this design.

It's like a sphincter tightening. It represents getting tough on prices so that they can pass the savings on to you, with an emphasis on Made in America.

They removed the dash out of the name a while back and didn’t make a big deal out of it, they just made the change

Funny you say that because when I saw the thread title, I figured someone managed to get it closer to the community flag logo.
For those that didn't watch:

Bring this one back. The current one looks poverty AF

Their old logo looked too much like an asterisk * symbol due to all of the side effects of all of the COVID shite they pushed.

I wasn't going to shop at Walmart this afternoon but now after seeing this new logo, I feel like they represent me and my values so off to Walmart I go.
