I should knock on wood here, but I've never lost a phone. I don't think I've ever lost a wallet either, but I'm confident that I'd be more likely to lose a wallet than my phone so it's worth the added risk of putting all the eggs in 1 basket.
Only other thing too is that it's only 1 card and 1 photo ID, so while certainly not ideal if it were all lost with the phone, it's not like a wallet full of items and 4-5 credit cards.

Right handed so I used to go rear right.
I switched to the front left with a Ridge wallet.
You don’t realize how much unnecessary crap you keep in a wallet till you switch to a front pocket.
If a front pocket wallet makes me a dork then I’m a dork.

You put it back pocket on the side of your dominant hand. Just like you wear a watch on your non-dominant hand. Do people actually not do these things like this?

Wallet: front right. I use a very small wallet, carrying only 2 cards, 2 IDs, insurance cards, and some cash. Very thin.
Phone: front left.
Getting away from putting my wallet in my back pocket was definitely more comfortable.
