I see quite a few rite aids every day in baton rouge. Usually next to walgreens or cvs, or all 3 on the same corner.

I just happened to see the article online(also I have the CNN app and it flashed as a top alert on my phone for some reason
). I'm a big Walgreens shopper and it just made me think about Rite Aid and how I don't see them anymore here.
I thought maybe I just had not paid enough attention, never realized they had all been bought out here(they used to be locations here at some point cause I remember going to one).

The Rite-Aid remodels are nice. I find them much more attractive than the Walgreens I've visited.

Come to New Orleans. They're on every street corner (where the K&B's used to be.) Rite Aid is who bought out the purple and white.

Was K&B locally owned? I remember them being around years ago.
My nieces are the great great granddaughters of the founder of K&B. Sydney Besthoff III is their great uncle.
When K&B closed in 1997, the New Orleans area lost the best ice cream ever.

This is a big deal, giving WG over 15k locations....until they close some Rite Aids.
Consolidation is CPG is getting crazy. I couldn't believe when Kraft and Heinz merged.

Baton Rouge has at least 4 if not 5. The one on Staring and Perkins is one of the best drug stores in Baton Rouge -- clean, safe, and lots of toys for the kiddies.

They do here in North AL.

Of course they do. I'm friends with the owners

When I was real young there were "service" stations on three out of four corners at main intersections. That later changed to fast food outlets and eventually to drug stores. You now find the fast food in the gas stations so next step in this progression is for drug channel to sell gas and fast food.

Publix pharmacy beats the shite out of the prices at Walgreens for the meds my SO has to take and there aren't all the poors hanging out everywhere.
Everything else is expensive as frick at publix, unless you get the BOGO free

Sounds like you might be one of those poors if Publix is too expensive for you.

Lulz. Publix is where I shop genius. I pay premium to avoid wal marks and other shite holes where poors congregate.

There are several here in Alabama. I was thinking the other day that consumers are getting fewer and fewer choices for the goods we buy. This isn't a good thing in regards to price and quality.
