A tip is voluntary. Her being fires is exactly what should have happened

Religious nuts are some of the worst tippers in the game

She doesn't just roll out of bed looking like this. It takes a lot of time to put this together

I know right? Bunch of trashy tightwads in this thread

Restaurants should have built in gratuities for orders over $50 and to-go orders.
Even Waffle House does this with carry out...so maybe Ms. Yoder will enjoy her next job

The most disturbing thing about this incident is the media considers it news.

I don't leave a tip when I pick up a catering order. Is that wrong? Delivery, yes I tip.

As in a really large order for several people? And you don't even leave a small tip?
Yes...very much wrong.

Fatties don't deserve tips.

She should have said they didn't tip because she was an gay, cisgendered, atheist

They should pay servers a normal hourly rate & make tipping not the norm, like other countries. I wouldn’t care if my meal cost a little more to offset not having to pay an employee directly when I eat a meal.

i'm all for the "no tip" paradigm myself
people always say that service will suffer but (1) it's not a big deal to me anyway and (2) people like girl in OP were doing that job and frick her

She was incredibly stupid for taking it to Facebook and calling out the church by name. Calling out the church directly was likely what got her terminated.
She probably only gets a warning if she had generalized in her post (e.g. "got stiffed on a tip for a $700 order today.")

She was stupid. A takeout order does not require a tip.
However, a $735 order by a church should result in some tip at least.
Church should refuse refund if there was no issue with food.

I see this argument, and it never makes sense. Chick fil A employees are nice without tips. If you pay people & make good service the expectation, they’ll give good service. Or get fired.

Everyone operating a cash register thinks they deserve a tip these days
I've noticed almost every establishment has a "tip" option now. Like, you just put three glazed donuts in a bag for me and have the audacity to have "Tip: 15%, 20%, 25%, custom" in my face when signing my name.
