Black Customers Handcuffed at Waffle House After Dispute Over 50 Cents

quote:

Waitstaff called police after the couple pointed out they were charged $1.50 for a $1 urange juice

quote:

Following a string of incidents that spurred calls for a boycott, Waffle House is again facing scrutiny for calling the police on its customers. Police body camera footage posted to Facebook by activist and the Intercept columnist Shaun King shows two black customers at a Fort Walton Beach, Florida, location being handcuffed after complaining to waitstaff that they were overcharged for a beverage.

Talcum X strikes again.

quote:

According to King, the couple being handcuffed in the video “refused to pay for a $1.50 overcharge on an orange juice that was listed as $1 on the menu.” After arguing with staff about the price, police were called. The couple ultimately paid for their meals and were not taken into custody, according to Business Insider, which also states that ”the woman returned to the Waffle House location later and received a full refund.”

Why do idiots think this will affect Waffle House's customer base? Zero chance WH loses the black contingent.

Waffle House is right to call the cops. How many videos are out there of minor altercations at restaurants that turn in to all-out brawls resulting in damaged property and injured customers?

You know what, I'll say it, those two are right. It bugs the shite out of me when cops just mutter listen listen listen when they refuse to fricking listen listen listen.

And to start it all off with "'Mon out" and then when he approaches, say you better back up? No wonder everyone is frustrated. It's ridiculous behavior by all involved.

My problem with this story and others like it is, they do not list out the full story at all.

Black Customers Handcuffed at Waffle House After Dispute Over 50 Cents

So am I supposed to believe that some customers went to inquire on some charges to their meal. And in response to the customer's questions, the employees immediately called the police in response.

How does that even sound reasonable. The cops were not called because the customer inquired on their charges. The cops was called because the customer acted a fool and became a nuisance inside the store. Is it really that hard to see the difference here?

So, they weren't handcuffed over 50 cents. They were handcuffed over acting belligerent over 50 cents.....

How the frick has Shaun King not been fired by the Intercept

Usually I'd find it gracious if someone elects not to sue someone, but that cop really, really needs to file a defamation action against King. If not for him, for the rest of society that won't punish King.

Does it show the part where they emptied his pockets and he had several huge rolls of bills? That's what I saw.
