Sure, is BR obligated or is the City-Parish. You tell me.

I long for the days we get rid of libraries and the huge taxpayer expense they bring.

At thing point they are only used for porn by the homeless and employing transgender feminists with masters degree's in uselessness.

Have a city fund.
Have a parish fund. Problem solved.

The Metro/Parish consolidation govt needs to be dissolved. Let the city of BR run its govt and tax its residents, and let the parish govt handle the business of the parish based on taxes paid across the parish regardless of incorporation.

Unless something has changed since 2020 more people in EBR parish now live outside of the city of BR than inside the BR city limits, and that’s not the situation this govt was designed to deal with when it started in the 1940s.

I agree. Regardless of the vote on THRIVE, this city/parish government has to go. It’s no longer the City of BR with cow pastures outside the limits.

The city of Baton Rouge is responsible for the Baton Rouge Police, not the parish residents that live outside of the city of Baton Rouge. I shouldn’t have to say that.

But it’s been funded with parish money for some time now, which should not be happening. And it’s literally part of these proposals to help pay for their debt.

Mail in ballots show no for library. Yes for other 2. But it’s close.

You think if library gets shot down tonight it will stand a chance next time around?

Oh for sure. They already told the Library people that if it fails, a new one would be put on a ballot soon. That’s why the Library didn’t buck this. They actually said this.

I just saw that both Livingston fire protection mills were voted down. Livingston has been voting down a lot of their taxes these last few election cycles. I wonder if homeowners insurance goes up at some point if fire protection goes down?

People are pretty dumb voting against mosquito abatement. It’s only 1 mil.

Old people should also be against a slush fund for a select few.

Still a tossup. Hopefully later precincts swing the other way. None of the Zachary precincts reporting. Not sure on central.
