The last few years prior to moving it was nice living close to the Battery and Braves stadium.
My Brother in Laws company was involved with the construction of the Stadium and the Battery. Those are very nice.

Go to Baton Rouge or New Orleans next. You'll have the same opinion.

We will have to agree to disagree then.

Homeless have gotten considerably worse in downtown (five points/GSU/Govt buildings) since 2020. Crime has also kicked up. I’ve been going to downtown Atlanta weekly since the late 1990s.
I had to spend 8 days downtown a year ago. Hell on earth. Filthy, shite everywhere and yes mindblowing homeless and all the food in that area sucks. I will say the police presence was very strong.
Outside of that, I don’t mind Atlanta. Plenty to do for a quick weekend even without going to Buckhead or the Battery.

I was there this past weekend for a wrestling tournament, I don't know how people put up with the traffic, it sucks...
We stayed at a buddy of mine's house in Dunwoody which was awesome, it's a burb just NE of the parameter. Now way I would live close to downtown.
It amazed me how bad Turner field looks, they donated to GSU and it looks rundown. My son said they need to pressure wash it..

Atlanta isn't great, but the North East burbs is way nicer than anything Nola has by far.
NOLA is a shite hole with some of the worst crime in the country

Well, I'll say the politically incorrect elephant in the room no one wants to say.
1. According to USA TODAY, 56 of the 61 most dangerous cities in the US are dem run.
2. Name me one city or country in the world run by a black that is a socialist, communist, fascist, or democrat that isn't a chit hole?

I’ve stayed in Midtown and it was fine. More than fine. Downtown is not a nice place.

My visit to Atlanta was very brief but I was shocked when I was there for the 2019 semi final game
Downtown is way worse than New Orleans and Buckhead bars were a lot more trashy than I expected
I’m positive it’s better than what I saw, but I don’t have any desire to go back

This is correct.
My multi-millionaire inlaws just ditched their Lake Oconee residence for a Midtown highrise.
Midtown ATL and Downtown ATL are two very distincively different atmospheres.

That aquarium is nice. When I went it was a private event so the place was pretty much empty.

You must have stayed downtown and didn't venture to the other neighborhoods

I saw it yesterday and thought the same exact thing. Just like much of the rest of the city, it’s just plain dirty. Like nobody’s touched it in years.

Downtown is not a nice place.
Correct. It's the worst part of the entire city but unfortunately it's what most people see first and then that skews their perception.

This is also correct. Midtown is great.

This tells me that you never left downtown.
Atlanta is actually a pretty clean city, outside of Downtown.

But the entire neighborhood around it(Summerhill) has been completely revitalized and gentrified.

Atlanta has one of the worst downtowns for a city its size.
You can cobble together decent stuff in Atlanta but I do not miss it one bit.
