Jesus, I haven't been to Atlanta in 20 years but it's hard to imagine it that much worse than current New Orleans

It's not. This is a bad take.

Rent free.

Like I said, I'm not even gonna defend downtown. It's the worst part, both aesthetically and crime wise, of the entire city.

If you had to visit the government buildings downtown downtown by the capital, which is a relatively small footprint of the overall city, I can agree with you. Otherwise, your post is 100% bullshite.

I passed by Arthur Blank's house before.

Like everywhere else, I am sure its not the same it was 10years ago, but this board tends to exaggerate and its probably not as bad as you say.

why is buckhead so trashy?

I was expecting a bunch of former SEC frat stars and srat girls and it was a bunch of service industry workers with dangly earnings and dodge cars

If you had to drive through Alabama to get there I don't know how you survived!

Buckhead isn't what it was in the 90's.

New Orleans is a complete shithole but is still somewhat holding on to (in spite on its leadership) its IT factor. Culture or whatever you want to call it. Atlanta has never had it. Or if it did Sherman took it a long time ago. frick Atlanta

But the entire neighborhood around it(Summerhill) has been completely revitalized and gentrified.

Woods Chapel BBQ is good. For those who mentioned food (though this isn’t downtown it is Summerhill).
If in actual downtown I can recommend for lunch:

Reuben’s for a sandwich.

Hsu’s for Chinese.

Slice for pizza or a drink.

Alma Cocina for Mexican.

Wouldn’t go to any of them after dark. At least one is closed anyway.

You can "frick Atlanta" all you want to, and I'd agree with a lot of it. But New Orleans is much much much shittier.

Holy fricking exaggeration!

All of those empty lots are about to be 30-40-50-60 story skyscrapers. There are 17 breaking ground this year. In fact, Atlanta's skyline is about to drastically change in the next few years in addition to THE STITCH and THE GULCH

You are out of your mind if you think Atlanta is worse than New Orleans. Give me a fricking break.

I am in downtown Atlanta all the time... Breaking News!! IT'S A BIG CITY. Every Big city in the United States has graffiti and homeless people. Shocking huh?

People are moving to Atlanta because it still has law and order, the economy is booming.. there's a shite ton of things to do here... housing is still affordable compared to other big cities... Hell, I know people that want to move here just to live on the Beltline.

Atlanta has some of the best suburbs out of any major Metro

Alpharetta
Johns Creek
Milton
Sandy Springs
Dunwoody
Roswell
Canton
Woodstock

etc etc etc

quote:

The roads make NOLA roads look acceptable

bullshite.

quote:

One hour ten minutes to drive 7.2 miles.

bullshite.

Stop being a pussy about traffic. Every major city has traffic problems.
