quote:

Oklahoma will welcome a $2 billion resort in 2026, featuring the American Heartland Theme Park and an adjacent campground. Let’s take a tour of the new theme park’s six lands, which include “Charlotte’s Web”.

Six lands include Liberty Village, Great Plains, Bayou Bay, Big Timber Falls, Stony Point Harbor, and Electropolis.

Lands will be themed around small town America w/ Liberty Bell replica, Charlotte’s Web farm and planes, pirates and voodoo, Bigfoot and mountain waterfalls, haunted lighthouse and nautical, and steampunk style American inventors respectively.

Separate but still onsite locations include a 300 room four star hotel, an indoor waterpark, and the Three Ponies RV Park and Campground.

It will be located at Vinita/Grand Lake, along Route 66 and near I-44.

Three Ponies is scheduled to open in Spring 2025 and American Heartland in Fall 2026.

Design team includes 20 former Disney Imagineers and is headed by Branson, MO based Mansion Entertainment.

Vinita is in the middle of nowhere. Are they banking on it being a central location between Dallas, Kansas City, St Louis, and Oklahoma City?

Seems odd to make that kind of investment in an area almost no one will think about visiting.

Three years sounds ambitious to go from not even breaking ground to opening a behemoth theme park.

This sounds nice. A non-woke alternative to Disney?

Never been to Disney, never had a desire to go, especially now. This place, because it's in the middle of nowhere, actually sounds worth a visit.

Vinita is in the middle of nowhere but it's not far from Tulsa, multiple large casinos and good fishing at Grand Lake.

If I had young kids, I'd rather take them to Vinita, OK than Orlando or Anaheim.

Ultimately down the road from Branson. Seems risky but what do I know?

Yeah but Branson sucks these days. Traffic sucks, Silver Dollar City is ok, the shows are meh. The only thing worthwhile in Brandon area is Table Rock and Bull Shoals.

Ocala was mostly swamps and orange groves before Disney. Plenty of cheap land and local government begging for economic stimulus. What I wonder about is climate. Ocala had warm weather year around. OK doesn't.

I'm kind of excited about it now that Louisianans are shitting on the proposal. We don't need culture visiting Oklahoma.

Broken Bow is almost 4 hrs away in the other corner of the state.

Awesome that the state was able to lure that kind of investment.
