in most situations like that probably, in this one tho? I feel like if you fired off a round and pointed your conceal carry at her she’d drop the the floor screaming, blaming whitey, and crying oppression. i doubt that gun was even loaded, much less the safety off, and her having used it before

Laziest hostage taker ever. And to do this in Richland not Jackson was just poor planning on her part.

Because only police are allowed to hit bystanders

Not sure how that is relevant for a Walmart employee who wouldn't be allowed to carry while working.

I wouldn't give a shite about the stores rules on employee carry, criminals sure as shite don't. Shut your mouth and don't tell anyone you're packing.

so you want to fire a round off randomly hoping to scare the criminal? bold strategy. I see a lawsuit in your future if you ever carry.

You'd get fired baw.

But I agree with you in principle.

it’s a hypothetical leaning heavily on sarcasm. sorry you failed to realize that. and for your information, i do carry. Which seems to upset you. Sorry

and what would you do if someone had a gun to your head and you were carrying? Would you try to get the draw on them and take them out?

It’s hard to say, moment to moment. But if it was that particular woman doing those particular things? Yes, I would, but I’m trained to do that.

The time to draw your weapon totally depends on the situation.

Here’s a scenario that happened to me. I was working on a friend’s car that had broken down on a street in Uptown N.O. It was a nice block in the Garden District, but not far from the hood. I saw a male approach from a half block away, wearing a hoodie on a warm night. One hand was in hoodie pocket. He crosses the street and started heading right towards me, so I stood in a ready pose and put my hand on my hip, ready to draw. The guy immediately thought better of it, and turned and walked in the other direction.

There are hundred of thousands of such instances yearly in the U.S. where defensive gun possession/use has prevented a crime.

you're missing the entire point. Say you should from 18 yards away. that's over 50 ft. Could you hit a 2 ft target...

Why did the discussion switch to 18 yards?

No, I would not take the shot at 50 ft. with a handgun. What kind of question is that?

From 15 feet? Yes, I’d take that shot in that situation,

I’d probably fire 3-4 rounds in the first second, so there’s that.

I could make that shot. When I did my ccp class I shot the required and then 2 magazines from pretty much that distance and my grouping was 4" center silhouette

It’s just a matter of time when a vertical iPhone video emerges on YouTube showing latisha getting her dome popped.

I could make that shot 10/10 and would certainly have fired my weapon.
