I feel your pain. Im currently finishing up my grad program in counseling. I love my work and the field, but goodness is it annoyingly indoctrinated. Atleasg once a week we have ti talk about gay people and how theyre so marginalized or have no rights. How medical professionals will outright refuse to treat gay patients ( i still dont buy this, I have yet to see 1 article confirming this has ever happened) , how often gay or trans people are beat up or killed for their sexual orientation. (Again, I have yet to see this factually supported other than being a frequent talking point). Hell, we've had to go through multiple "safe zone" trainings, where we talk about how society is so heteronormative, how we need to ask someone their pronouns when meeting anyone new in life ever, how lgbt people actually make up 30% of all society, but theyre too afraid to come out, etc etc. I want to blow my brains out sometines being forced to sit through that shite.

I keep the peace and either play along or normally just stay quiet, because I know if i was to ever truly speak my mind I would automatically be hated by everyone plus risk being kicked out the program by faculty possibly. Again, i love the work as I really am passionate about helping people, but shite like this make me think if i could truly work in this field for the rest of my life.
