When are people going to learn that Tesla vehicles are shite?
TESLAS ARE shite CARS!!!

People complaining about the batteries have not problems doing so while their laptops and cell phones use similar batteries. All while never recycling them as you can easily do

Like I said, it's some weird gotcha attempt that infers that people only like or buy teslas to be "green" and some people think it's a good zinger to throw out outdated info about the resources that are used in production.
Those people aren't quite smart enough to realize that the average tesla buyer probably doesn't give a shite about how "green" the tesla does or does not make them.

It will probably be my next car. I didnt want to spend 100k. 50k give or take some is fine with me. The costs otherwise are pretty low

What happens to the batteries at the end of their life?
Aren't the batteries supposed to last for like 300k-500k miles?
How does that compare to a gas engine's lifespan?

They have cars that are very affordable.
Cue that Wutangfinancial poster to come in and tell me how wrong I am for propping up Tesla's resale value for no reason other than "just cause"

The cost of maintaining it blew my mind tbh

Tires
Windshield wiper fluid
A couple of filters
And that's really it. Brakes don't really come into play as I think it's 150k or 200k miles on those, my car will never see that type of mileage.

My friend mentioned battery coolant every 2 years as well. Buying a new truck will be the same as that cyber truck it seems

That solar carport looks interesting
For high-tech white trash?
To charge a Tesla with an 85kWh battery pack at the same rate as a standard 240V residential charging station, you'd need a solar panel array more than 60 times the size of the most common residential (1000 kwh/month) PV setup.

A typical home solar array coupled with on-premises energy storage (like a powerwall) would charge the car just as quickly as standard 240v from the power company.
But you don't even need a powerwall, and most home solar arrays don't have them, because of net metering. The use-case of a solar carport is for those who want solar but might not have roof space for it. Rather than just wasting land with a solar array, it serves another purpose by being a carport too. Businesses are making heavy use of solar carports, too.
I don't know why you're talking about this ridiculousness of 60X larger PV arrays.

Was coming to post this but you did a much better job. I suppose the solar panel roof is not popular around here either.

I suppose the solar panel roof is not popular around here either.
Then you have people like Clames here who apparently think your panels need to be capable of putting out the max power you will ever use. I guess he plans to sell the excess $6,000 worth of power they will generate every month back to the grid.

You are a moron that flies off the handle anytime somebody dumps a little reality on you and your ilk.

No, it fricking doesn't. A Powerwall 2 can't deliver or sustain the power delivery of a 240V residential charging station. You'd need $41,000 worth of them to have the capacity to do what the 240V wall charger can do. Are you so clueless that you don't know those chargers can deliver 7.6kWh continuously?

Because you don't know anything about basic electrical service and my point flew completely over your ignorant head.

Just to clear this up electrical sources don't supply kWh (kilowatt-hours) continuously you are mixing up terms. Something can provide 7600 watts (roughly 31.6 amps @ a nominal 240v) continuously or 7.6 kWh over some period of time but are not the same thing.

quote:First, I was intentionally vague ("like a powerwall"), because you were talking about 60X larger solar arrays for charging as if you hadn't a clue such things exist. Second, I only mentioned on-premises storage as an example, and I went on to say it's not necessary to take full advantage of solar panels. I noticed you ignored that part of my post.
No, it fricking doesn't. A Powerwall 2 can't deliver or sustain the power delivery of a 240V residential charging station.
