I haven't read this whole thread but the thing that's odd is that it was nothing that Andy Dick said our did at that moment, because the guy was waiting on him. After he hits him he takes about two steps and picks up his beer and starts walking.

But in all seriousness, he has really had a lot of problems in the past with drugs and alcohol. Just hope he can find help and healing.

Exactly. I'm not denying he's a douche (outside of the whole responsible for the Hartman murder suicide) but if he was a douche that night, the retaliation was way after the fact. The guy waited and was prepared to catch him off guard.

So clearly there was an exchange of something between the two.
At the very beginning you see what looks like Dicks arm pointing in the direction of the assailant, who was obviously already annoyed. Because he had placed his beer down by that post, and then walked over to be near Dick

I think the girl was part of the setup. She distracted Dick so the guy could get off an uncontested shot. Then after a brief "OMG...shock, etc..." response for optics... She goes to catch up with him again.
