Sorry if you guys have already seen this, but I just found it while going down a YouTube rabbit trail.

Old dude was having the time of his life.

I remember seeing this shortly after the storm- heartbreaking - a good portion of Slidell was completely under water

After Katrina passed through I had given an old friend a ride from Baton Rouge to Slidell so she could visit her dad. It was depressing going through the neighborhood. You could see the water line was well above the door and the house was ripped down to the studs. They were able to rebuild but that had to be tough to go through.

It sucked and hopefully we dont experience anything like that again in my lifetime. I grew up and still live not far from Carr Dr and I couldnt imagine staying for that.

The first comment pretty much sums it up.

this is literally the most chill dude to ever exist. ignores the evacuation orders, films his whole neighborhood getting annihilated by Katrina while cracking jokes the entire time, and then goes out to cook some leftover shrimp for lunch with the other survivors afterwards

He's like a Cajun Norm MacDonald. Great video.

There was a hurricane that hit Slidell called Katrina back in 2005.

Old fella was mightily calm while filming his narrative. Wow!

2 wildest things to me outside the obvious hurricane effects…

1) dude runs his generator in his house
2) damn cotton mouth on his truck

Truck has been submerged and is buried in debris. He won't shoot the snake with his .410 because he doesn't want to hurt the truck.

I was dating a girl and her family stayed in Eden isles for the storm. I remember that place vividly after the storm moved out.

Where in Slidell is he filming from? Relatives' family in Oak Harbor ( I think thats the name of the subdivision) got 3 feet or so of water in their house.
