27 a gram wholesale

College kids paying $80/gram for stuff that's been stepped on twice.

$27/g seems realistic for face melting product straight from the jungle

Retail in the jungle is like $5-10.

ETA: 10 years ago so I may be wildly off.

Yeah, $90 an 8 ball is too low for street and $27K for a kilo is way too high for wholesale.

EDIT

I wouldn't know of course, but that's what the googles told me.

I'm guessing they were tipped off about a shipment and intercepted it.

Probably one cartel looking to punish their competition

AND BAM! the value of the cocaine they have goes up to fill the void.

Easy way to increase Return on Investment.

I was in Costa Rica a few summers back. Saw a USCG cutter sitting in their port in Golfito. Asked around, and it seems we are running offshore drone surveillance in support of drug interdiction ops. I think Central American countries’ navies leave a lot to be desired. They tracked one speedboat close enough that they knew they were being recorded/followed by the drone. The narcotraffickers ditched the boat and set it on fire. Costa Rican authorities rode out to the wreckage on an NGO-owned former USN vessel, the MODOC, to apprehend the crew.
