How we managed to lose the propaganda war against a regime that bombed their neighbors indiscriminately, is a known state sponsor of terrorism that just 6 months ago killed thousands of their own people is a frickING mystery. But we did it. We sure did it.

Well Trump is never going to admit he was wrong. The dude has an incredible ego that served him well in the private sector but proves impossible to overcome when he doesn't wield absolute power.

My prediction is this is the beginning of his downfall. He is a lame duck in November and the political usefulness will disappear. The supporters will abandon ship and say he has changed as defense. Pretty typical hero worship stuff.

And just think, all it cost us was $300 billion direct-deposited to a terrorist state!

That's not how I read it. The lions share of the $300B is coming from the gulf region countries.

Crucially, the fund is structured as a private investment vehicle rather than a government reconstruction or reparations programme, the report said, and will contain no US government money or grants. Companies based in the US, Gulf Arab states, Asia, South America and Africa have reportedly agreed to commit financing across energy, logistics, manufacturing and transport, with firms from South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia among those named.

"We're not investing, we're not putting up 10 cents," he said, adding that he was not asking Gulf countries to invest either and that any participation would depend on Iran's future behaviour.

I can’t disagree. He absolutely has an ego, I do think the man genuinely loves his country. But this is looking like an L I don’t know if he can overcome.

Maybe. But let’s be fair.

Trump campaigns on domestic issues. Hell, his slogan is “Make America Great Again.” And in both terms, he’s made some moderate progress there. To the extent his voters, myself included, hoped for? No.

And honestly, it feels like way too much of his energy this term has been spent on international issues most Americans don’t care much about.

So if this was a well-laid trap for me, congrats. It worked. But that’s what I believe.

Tried to gauge that earlier this week and there’s soo much infighting it was hard for me to even get a read. SFP is likely killing it over there and edging himself to every downvote.

My actual opinion? Most foreign wars in that part of the world are a waste of American taxpayer money and usually end in a no-win situation. This doesn’t look any different, and right now it looks like a giant screw-up that I’m not happy about.
With the added benefit of hindsight, what’s your opinion of the terms of this deal compared to the JCPOA?

Better? Worse? Roughly the same?

And I mean the deal plus sunk cost. How do you factor in the billions spent, lives lost, wounded troops, burned munitions, exposed burn rates and tactics, and the diplomatic damage we took getting from that deal to this one?

Do you consider this outcome better or worse than Obama’s deal? And if it’s worse, where would you rank this among the greatest presidential unforced errors? And, if it's better, how?

With hindsight?

I’d still argue the JCPOA was a fundamentally bad deal because it legitimized a regime that has spent decades funding terrorism while merely delaying, not eliminating, its nuclear ambitions. Paying your enemy to temporarily behave isn’t a long-term strategy.

But opposing Obama’s deal doesn’t mean every alternative is automatically good. Those are two different things.

If we just spent billions, burned munitions, risked American lives, damaged our position, and Iran still ends up able to rebuild, then obviously, no … I’m not calling that better just because a “Republican” did it instead of a Democrat.

His energy is focused on his legacy. He wants something that will live on past him other than what everyone thinks of him right now.

Dude could have legalized weed ended daylight savings time instead he bombed more countries in a year and lost a war with Iran.

I’m not going to argue this, BUT what rich old man in any level of power isn’t trying to?

Yeah. And believe it or not I’d of just preferred him to legalize weed instead of all this foreign affairs bullshite.

. Legalize weed. I don’t really have a strong opinion either way. Meh.

Lock down the border for good. Deport a couple million illegal immigrants who are violent criminals and/or collecting government benefits. Shut down the out-of-control H1B abuse by hammering the companies importing workers to undercut Americans. Push the SAVE Act through. Investigate and shut down every bit of government waste and fraud DOGE uncovered.

And then work across the aisle to throw a big-arse nationwide “America 250” party all summer long.

That’s going out on top.

You would have people celebrating you for decades to come. Sam Adam's is on a damn bottle of beer and that dude didn't legalize beer.

Dude has a peeling swamp that his brother in law did as a weekend project.

I chuckled when it was cleverly turned around on him earlier but hat was appreciation for the joke. I disagree with him 99.999999% of the time but we've always had reasonable discussions, He's no SDT tiger or whatever the hell, at least. That's for sure. His posts should have a cringe button.
