When is everyone going to agree that we need to put the adults back in charge?
It’s over, bro. I accepted that when I watched a guy who got out as a major, but wasn’t trusted to command beyond platoon leader, summon 5,000 years of combined leadership experience in the United States military into a 100-meter blast zone so he could lecture them about shaving profiles.
At this point, the play is to stop waiting for the adults to come back, enjoy your life, your work, and your family, and occasionally pause to laugh at the absurdity of the American empire collapsing under a crew this inept.

The good news for him is that Hezbollah/Lebanon and Israel are giving him cover to back out. I think there is less than a 50/50 chance this ends up being anything like the final deal..
But it's true. It’s just a disgusting place to be. What an epic own-goal clusterfrick.

Thought the adults vacated command when the previous Secretary of Defense went awol to undergo surgery. No one in the military command structure nor the WH had a clue despite the Secretary being under anesthesia and incapacitated for days.

Yeah, that sucked too.
Notice how this always work? The defense is never, “Here is why this is competent leadership.” It’s never, “Here is why this was a wise use of command authority.” It’s never, “Here is why this guy is actually qualified for the role.”
It’s always, “Their guy was bad too.”
You're not defending Trump You're telling on him.
You’re only argument is that he's just as shitty and unserious.
eta-: and klark doubles down on my point as I was writing it.

Thought about it last night. Seems like there used to be politicians with actual military backgrounds that made it to the highest levels.
More generals that had a military career then went to executive politics.
Guess that pipeline no longer exists these days?

Sure, call it whatever you want. But let’s at least be fair and show the contrast of both administrations. unless you’re not interested in balance? I can name you half a dozen shitty Trump cabinet members.

If yall want to make some money just get on polymarket and bet everything you have on this “deal” not getting signed on Friday.
Well it may have gotten signed before friday, but it also looks like it might get ripped up before Friday too

During this Iran learned they can run the naval blockade and have nothing done.
Not sure they come back to the table as easy if they realized America might not be willing to risk an incident with a million barrels of oil.
Also interesting is that India and China can't find anyone to bring their VLCC's to pick up oil in the Gulf.

what point do I need to defend exactly?
Most if not all of the Biden cabinet and admin sucked. Whole lot of fricking weird progressives with zero business in any authority much less head of the country. Is that the point you want me to defend?
A lot of Trump’s current and previous admin I am not pleased with. I’ve been open about that and my post history will back that up? Will yours?

Klark is a strong independent woman and she ain’t bout to have some man telling her what to do!

Johnny is angry weird little man, apparently afraid to address me or my stance by himself.

. My actual opinion? Most foreign wars in that part of the world are a waste of American taxpayer money and usually end in a no-win situation. This doesn’t look any different, and right now it looks like a giant screw-up that I’m not happy about.
I know this is exciting for y’all. Congrats. Take the victory lap. Sorry, I interrupted.
NawlinsTiger9 pointed out yesterday that anytime Trump is taking an L, Vance is the one sent out to run point. That’s a pattern I’ve noticed too, and honestly makes me concerned. But I’m going to let this play out a little before I start making sweeping conclusions.
