Hates Trump and everything MAGA.
All while he's doping himself up daily, drinking better red wine than I would buy with his fake arse "condition."

Yep. My sister’s current boyfriend is “disabled”. The times I have met him he seemed totally fine. Had all his limbs, can walk, see, speak, and hear without issue. Not sure what is so “disabled” about him. Don’t think he has a job. Not sure WTF he does all day.

Has DOGE looked into this yet?

It's every taxpayer's business. There is rampant abuse and corruption in the system. You can see it with your own eyes.
No one wants to talk about it.

Just because you are a veteran doesn’t mean you can’t be a piece of shite.

I'm just curious if you served in combat. You seem to be quite critical of those who did.
And this is why this is difficult to discuss.
Not everyone who served served in combat. The largest increases in DV history have occurred in relative peacetime.
Even in peacetime, servicement get hurt all the time. They should be compensated.
That doesn't mean there isn't RAMPANT abuse of the system and many, many people who shouldn't be on it are. That's just welfare and abuse.

We should go after all of these fake disabled bastard Vets so that we can give more money towards getting all of the poor and sick people of the world to come live here in our neighborhoods for free.

I have several examples of made up ailments but I’m not going to sell my boys out

Saw a guy walk to it the Y last week. Tatted up, young guy in great shape. New lifted jeep with disabled vet plates. Parked in the handicapped spot closest to the door and had a service dog.
My dad had DV plates and got $20 a month for a shattered ankle. Yes he had a fulltime job with DuPont and retired from there. We had to take the lawnmower from him when he was 84 because he liked mowing his yard at 1PM so he could sweat. He was able to have sex at that age too, without need of Viagra.
Just because someone has DV plates doesn't mean they are living off disability

yet my dad who served in vietnam as a helicopter gunner and has ischemic heart disease possibly due to agent orange cant seem to get disability. I know what you mean. I know a guy getting disability from time served in Iraq I believe and is a diesel mechanic.
I got zero issue with Veterans getting every penny they can. I’d much rather my tax dollars going to them than the majority of the bullshite they go to now.
Having said that, I fully agree with your point about the wild inconsistencies for older veterans getting disability.
My brother’s FIL was a paratrooper in Vietnam. Did multiple tours even after he suffered a broken neck and back due to a failed chute. He’s almost 80 now and has significant mobility issues due to his injuries and has been denied numerous times for 100% disability coverage.
Again, I know a few vets in their 40s and 50s who are 100% and live active lives with no lingering physical issues - and I’m truly happy for them, I just wish it was more consistent and supportive for the older vets.

I have a buddy that is/was an airborne infantry that is on some level of disability. You wouldn't know it just looking at him, and he works a fulltime job, but his injuries are 100% legit.
You would likely think he's gaming the system based on your posts in this thread.

It’s pretty common and not hard to get on VA disability
Not in my experience. I gave up after 5 years trying to get a disability rating because the VA was 100% convinced the osteoarthritis in my shoulder and knee was caused by playing football in HS and two years in college and not the 8 years in the Marines. But it's my fault for having something super common for a 30 year old.
Posted on 5/21/25 at 10:45 am to SulphursFinest
My experience is that it was very difficult, it took me over 30 years and 6 attempts.

My Grandfather lost a toe at the Battle of the Bulge due to frostbite and carried shrapnel from a grenade. Never filed for anything. Said others sacrificed more and deserved it. What really bothers me are the veterans that aren't combat vets but work the system to get disability. I work with several that are getting anywhere from 50-100% and still are very active. When they brag about getting it makes it even worse.
Yep. People are claiming PTSD that never left the US. And they get it because it's impossible to prove otherwise. There are professional disability coaches out there that will teach you what to say in your screening interviews. You can't disprove headaches, irritability, anxiety, etc. And the VA opens up the tax payer wallet.
So you can spend two years peeling potatoes on the S.S. Bad Decisions, never leave CONUS, and get tax-free disability for the next 50 years.
I read an article about a VA doctor who tried to shine some light on these abuses and he got shut down, fired and disgraced. No one wants to hear it.

quote:100 percent to the VA does not mean what you think it means
I know of 3 people receiving 100% veteran disability checks ($4,200 a month) plus lots of additional goodies, who are perfectly functioning - one operating his own home contractor business. It seems if you are 100% disabled you would be incapacitated. I think some of our veterans are scamming the system IMO.

My fiance's dad had 100% disability until this year for exposure to Agent Orange after he developed cancer from the exposure.
It was reduced to 40% without much explanation.
I thought after a certain amount of time (5 yrs?) it could not be reduced, only increased.

I'm stuck at 80%. I want that circle-butt license plate
