We should go after all of these fake disabled bastard Vets so that we can give more money towards getting all of the poor and sick people of the world to come live here in our neighborhoods for free.

I'm good with any veteran who served for me and my family, to be taken care of for the rest of their lives. Not sure how that should look, but for the OP's example, welfare shite pisses me off way more.

It's all a scam. You can qualify as a DV just for sleep apnea and needing a CPAP.

I'm just curious if you served in combat. You seem to be quite critical of those who did.

Unless you were forced to go to Vietnam, you chose to join the military. I’ve never understood this mentality. We didn’t make anyone go, they chose to. That doesn’t mean I don’t respect it.

That's right. You either drank Sarge's Mud Black Coffee or you drank no coffee at all. And if you DID want a cup of Sarge's coffee, you had to walk in the rain and snow all the way from the Barracks to the Company HQ building.

As a life and health insurance agent, I can confirm that EVERY SINGLE veteran I come across is on some type of VA disability with roughly 30% of them on 100% VA disability, while only about 10% of them truly are disabled.

Love our veterans, but if DOGE really wants to clean up some waste, the VA Disability program would be a great starting point.

yet my dad who served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner and has ischemic heart disease possibly due to agent orange cant seem to get disability.

My dad is having the same issue. Completely messed up from his time in special operations and has been denied twice by the VA for disability.

I know an airman that received 50% from chronic yeast infections caused from the stress of air traffic control. Kicker is, she washed out of the career field before becoming a rated controller.

They are already considering to remove sleep apnea from VA disability. This would affect a lot of veterans.

The other stuff is kind of whatever to me, but parking in handicapped spots when other mobility-limited people need them was an a-hole move.

Lol. Able bodied men working well paying jobs and still living out of the people’s pockets for no apparent reason is a whatever but parking in a handicap spot is a bridge too far.

At least they served

I know a guy on SS disability. POS alcoholic/drug addict who we all pay to subsidize his "back problems". Dude was a engineer so it's not like he couldn't find an office job but then he'd have to pass a piss test.

This guy installed a metal roof on top of his house by himself while collecting that welfare check..

I often wonder how much of our tax dollars go directly to drug dealers...

But absolutely no politician is going to go anywhere near this. Its a death sentence for a political career.

Plenty of folks have had their post-military earnings limited due to a wide variety of issues. Plenty have not.

My dad is a Purple Heart Vietnam vet who is now considered 100% disabled. The thing is he was not classified as 100 percent for decades even though he could have qualified. He just accepted it because he did not want them doing surgery on his head again. He was afraid they would attempt to say he just needed another surgery and take away what little disability he got.. A few years ago we discovered that for decades the VA has classified my dad as just having ringing in his ears when in fact his ear drums had been blown out and he was pretty much deaf. He actually had to submit a picture of the truck he was riding in when it hit a land mine as proof of his injuries to get it changed.
