How much do you pay in taxes a year, my friend? If I'm grifting by paying a couple hundred thousand in taxes a year and only getting a $1,700/mo check from the VA, then I'm one dumbass grifter.

got a real OT Baller situation on our hands here! paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes a year, but you're on here defending your honor over less than 2 grand a month in bullshite disability money

let me guess - you've got sleep apnea, tinnitus, and anxiety?

He like 40, makes a half million dollars a year, and still can’t get an ole lady and constantly makes brag threads on an anonymous internet message board. It’s a tough look for sure

That’s what happens when you hire millenials

My favorite is how they keep bringing up cases where someone was actually physically disabled as proof that ALL cases are legit. Yeah retards, obviously there are a lot of actual disabled vets out there who need the disability money to help them. We aren't talking about them.

The problem with this thread is everyone is using their own definition of disability compared to what is written into law.

The other problem is they view this as a social assistance program and do not realize that this is essentially an employer benefit.

If there is outrage it shouldn't be at vets who are applying for a benefit they earned and are eligible for. It should be at your congressional reps who voted for and fund the benefit package.

Would you be upset if part of the payment plan upon enlistment stated that when you ETS we will pay $x dollars for the rest of your life?

If they aren’t disabled, they aren’t eligible.

Both parties are at fault. Extremely simple concept

getting 100% disability payments for life because i'm sad sometimes, cant sleep sometimes, or because i'm middle aged and my body feels middle aged is not an employer benefit. it's designed for people that NEED THAT MONEY to help them get through the rest of their lives with whatever physical problems the military caused them that limit their abilities.

no politician will ever touch this topic, and you know it. it's completely untenable because the manufactured outrage from the opposition would be on a scale the likes of which we've never seen. saying "if you dont like it, blame the politicians" is a cop-out because we all know that no politician will ever do anything about this. vets need to hold other vets accountable. that's the only way to ever get this monster under control. if you're getting a 100% disability check (not you in particular, just in general) and you're posting videos of yourself crushing CrossFit WODs every day, you should be fricking ASHAMED and EMBARASSED, but we all know people like this. i know TONS of vets like this in fact. this is more the norm than the exception these days.

i have no idea what you are talking about here. you're obviously trying to trap me into something, but i dont know what. i guess i would be mad if every swinging dick that did 4 or 8 years got paid the rest of his life, yeah. but more from a fiscally conservative position. there is no reason to pay someone a salary for life just because they did a hitch in the army or whatever.

also "earned and eligible" in this case are EXTREMELY subjective, which is the problem.

nothing edgy about it. it's what i truly believe.

i have no idea what your personal situation is, but with the amount of righteous indignation and complete lack of shame or humility you've displayed on this thread, i have a pretty good idea what you're all about.

My knees hurt -My back hurts prove me wrong!

+20%.

Laugh all you want, hand. This is how it works and it’s disgusting.

I notice you didn’t speak to the many private firms that coach Veterans through the process of increasing % disability.

Muh testing/documentation with the world renowned VA docs.

They quite literally do just this to try and prove people wrong. Claiming back or knee issues? X Rays and MRIs are in your future. Claiming tinitus? An audiologist is in your future. I can't say this enough.... you CANT just claim something and get paid.

Got full benefits including VA home loan for a house with just a $5,000 downpayment

Well, that makes no sense. VA loans don’t require ANY downpayment, only a funding fee which is rolled into your loan.

If the house is over the appraised value, you pay the difference to get into it. Otherwise, you could get a $1 million dollar loan on a $250k house. Downpayment, out of pocket, choose your term.

Doesn't matter, they lost it and have been apartment dwelling for ten years living off that check they faked themselves into. Sounds like somebody here faked themselves into some disability also.
