And she was so not interrupting ... she was asking a question pertaining to salary which she had been recognized to speak. WTF?

Thanks; We were watching KATC

because he threatened to arrest people that were recording him outside for “public intimidation.”
He threatened to arrest them because someone said they were calling Mike Couvillion, the Vermilion parish Sheriff.

Just because they said it doesn't make it fact, but they did say it. He didn't say it himself during his interview...but he defended it.

Is that against the law?

Is that public intimidation though?

- Superintendent defended his raise, and the Marshall. Said he had not gotten a raise in 5 years and now he is more on par with other superintendents around the state.
And not once has the moron had any comment about teachers not getting raises, but it's ok for him to get a raise after 5 years?
It's not like he magically made the school district better. Those teachers probably had more to do with it than him.

I’m not defending what he said, I’m just stating that he made that comment because the people around him were talking about going over his head on the matter, not because they were videoing him.

No..but its small town shite. Somebody says they are calling Mike Couvillon (the Sheriff), and the response will almost always be, "well call him. I don't work for him."
Thats why I made the comment earlier about that being funny. Im sure he wishes he could take that remark back. It certainly is better to have Couvillon on your side, rather than with you.
Now, I don't know what side of the fence Couvillon sits on with the school board...but you can almost bet your arse off he has a side. That's how they roll in VP.

Erath was always top notch when it comes to that grading system. North Vermilion and Kaplan weren't far down as well. Abbeville High has improved somewhat.
No doubt the school system as a whole has had an overall improvement. No doubt it has more to do with teachers and principals as well.
I guess the biggest issue with it is that tons of things need improvements, more than even teacher raises. The fact that the first domino to fall was a superintendent raise is a bad look.
shite, they just built a brand new middle school at NV and it was built too small. It was over populated from day 1.

I doubt Mike gets involved unless he has to

He is just there if a law is broken. Roberts rules of order are not laws.
If Robert’s Rules were laws, Anthony Fontana should have been the one arrested. She was speaking after being acknowledged. He wrongly said she was out of order, did not even ask her to be seated, and then the marshal was summoned immediately after he said that.
That is not how Robert’s Rules work y’all.

It's not like he's worried about getting re elected, probably one of the most popular sheriffs in the state.

No doubt. He has no worry about elections as long as he wants. And once he doesn't run, whoever he endorses is a lock to win as well.

Exactly, especially when the President of the Board does not even want public comment on the matter.
That idiot Fontana doubling down on the decision in the interview with KLFY was fantastic though. I hope they run his arse out of the parish. He just seems like a real a-hole, and doesn't even try to hide it.

This thing is one of the top stories on the NBC Evening News.

It seems like he is already out. They didnt mention it on the news though. And I can't find the damn link where I read it earlier.
